Unfortunately The Metro is an absolutely ***** source and they make up random stories to fill their pages. I know for a fact an english club were in for Pastore this summer and it wasn't us. Pastore was keen to make the move but PSG pulled the plug. That club will likely be in for him again in January along with others no doubt. Top player, but is on big wages and some big clubs are in for him so highly unlikely you will see him at us, although would love to be proved wrong. Also, he will go for a lot more than £17m (absolute laughable figure quoted by the metro).

On a side note, watched that Diego Costa for Atletico v Real today and was very impressed. Does have a temper and is fiery, but I think the lad could do really well over here. Wasn't too sure about him when we were linked, but definitely think we should be following up if there is any chance of getting him

I was just thinking the same think about Costa... Actually came in here to point out how awful it is that we've missed him. 8 goals in 7 games this season for Atletico, who have won all 7 games. He could actually see a lot of action for Spain next summer if he keeps it up.

Yeah, the Metro does often seem to print stories that aren't always echoed elsewhere but in this instance at least three other uk papers including Mirror and Express have reported it.

btw Who was the English club that were in for Pastore in the summer ? Arsenal ?

Don't think he would be a priority. I'd prefer to see funds invested in a ball winner and playmaker in CM.

He can be a playmaker in CM

we need a DM though imo, when we have suarez, coutinho, sturridge and moses back (and playing together) we`ll give teams problems, it`s just that our holding midfielders cant give those players the right platform to perform from.

Can't argue with that...Lucas has little competition for his role and we need someone else to battle it out and cover for injuries.

thers talk of alonso leaving madrid in jan,,, wud b good seeing him sittin in beside gerrard again, but this wud only a be a short term fix. as for a long term buy im not to sure of any young dm that we could purchase.

if you paired the 2013 versions of alonso and gerrard together in CM i think you`d have a serious lack of mobility issue.

I think you'd have the best CM pairing in the league.

Linked with Micah Richards in January today. If that did happen it would suggest Skrtel is on his way out.

good player but we have more than enough defenders, we should be looking at center mids.

this ilorri lad is highly rated and he hasnt even kicked a ball for us yet, we just dont need more CB`s imo.
