juve link

Why on earth would Rafa join Juve?? i reckon this may be a perfectly timed ploy to raise funds for 1 or 2 additions to the squad. cool

Rafa's not going anywhere. He's got a job to do and he's going to do it..... just not this season.

"In football, everything changes very quickly, but the basic principle is that Rafa has another four-year contract with Liverpool."
is what he said

The only way this will ever happen is if he is sacked. cant see him walking away after the support he has had recently.

RAFA OUT !!!! :glare:

Benítez revealed yesterday that he does not expect to see any of the reported $500 million (about £308 million) that Tom Hicks, the club’s co-owner, is set to receive for the sale of his Texas Rangers baseball team.

“I don’t think so, no,” Benítez said. “That is a different company. You have to think about football and business, both things together. This year we have done a fantastic job trying to balance the books and to do the right job for the company. In football, we had to take some risks and we have to improve now on the pitch.

“This year we have had to sell if we want to buy and keep things level. That’s part of the risk and sometimes it has gone well and sometimes less well.

“This year we had to do it this way because it was good for the stability of the club, because the investors can see the club is not a risk and maybe they will come in and make it easier to build something for the future.

“I know what I have been doing the last two or three years, I’ve been trying to balance the situation between business and football. We’ve brought in £160 million selling players in that time, we’ve always looked to try and bring money in as we wanted to improve the squad.

“When we started here, the value of the squad was £100 million, now it’s £300 million. The value of the club was £85 million, now it’s £500 million. Why? Because we were selling, buying and winning things. We have been trying to create a more healthy club.”
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

"This hypothesis is not correct because Rafa has a four-year contract with the Reds. His figure is very important there, the idols of the fans are Gerrard, Torres and Benitez," he told calciomercato.it.

This words of the Rafa Agent are very unfortunate IMHO. There are things that you cannot say about yourself or the guy you are representing.

As for the interest of Juve, not surprising really, outside newkit Rafa has a reputation.

Sky Sports News have just had their Italian football expert on and he said that Rafa was definitely the number one choice for the Juventus board either immediately or to be installed in the summer. It could all depend on what happens between now and the end of the season. Interestingly, their other choice seems to be the Ireland manager Trappatoni - who im sure is around 80 years of age.
