The ticket allocation for cup games is the done properly, on a loyalty scheme, but for the league game the amount of supporters clubs that are guaranteed a certain amount of tickets is really a joke, yes its nice to have there support and i am sure alot of revenue is generated, but i do think that the tickets should not be guaranteed at all. There are no guarantees for local fans so why is it the other way round ?
It is no coincidence that the atmosphere at away games and on European nights is far better due to the fact that the majority of the tickets have gone to born and bread scousers.
Everyone has a right to support the club and to go the match but prioritising for fan clubs from different parts of the country is wrong imo

I agree completely Ace

its not how it is,anybody can apply for a season ticket where ever they live. The wait is about 15 years.

Me and my sister are the only 2 'non-scousers' in my family and my uncles started taking me to the games at the age of 4 years old, I consider myself a scouser more than a 'wool' so I'd be well annoyed if LFC started labeling fans OOTers and Wools, I know it would never happen though.   :)

??? Er whats racist about that?
Your more a less a scouser Paul as your mum is, but I know loads of people who cant get a ticket for important Cup games who have supported Liverpool all their lives yet strangers who have never been to Anfield before get a ticket and the locals have to suffer, which is not fair. People in the surrounding areas of  Liverpool who have supported us all their lives are also classed as scousers sort of from St Helens and that :D

And Oasis Liverpool wouldnt have shut down due to lack of revenue its only cause we are the most successful british club that we are known world wide, Evertons the longest top flight club they win fuck all yet they still have their fans supporting them every week and didnt have to close down due to lack of success.
Dont bring Shankly into it or any other manager or non scouse players cause thats got nothing to do with it.

Maybe racist is a little harsh I suppose  :D

100% with you there, I've never really been into England and only really watch the games to see 'our lads' play  :)

Liverpool first all the way for me

Christ how did this turn into an OOTER debate again?

I know exactly the point Leon was trying to make, that if you watch a player live regularly you're in a better position to judge him as a player than if you just watch him on tv or highlights.  Of course this is the case.  Otherwise why would clubs have scouts to go and watch players?  Why doesn't Rafa just sit doing his scouting watching match of the day with a beer and a chicken fried rice every saturday night instead?  Just sack the scouts.

I have to say though Ciggy, some of your views on this topic every time it comes up are pretty narrow minded.  I won't elaborate as I've made the point in the past.

Thats out of order John Ive defended Ooters in the past my point is people of Liverpool and surrounding areas should get first bags on tickets/season tickets.  Thats my opinion no one has to agree with it.
And to say you have seen my views on here in the past about it, well I cant remember offending anyone I can think of others on here that are a lot more outspoken on this issue than me on here.

im actually deeply offended.. or hungover, both feelings feel the same to me... to be honest i couldnt care less sorry. i dont go to many games. i like the pubs, thats where im in my element. i'll sing and chant more than any other fans (being from london ive found a few good liverpool bars but will go to pubs in highbury area for gooners match etc)

whats good to see is that whereever we come from, the people on this site are obviously passionate about liverpool fc, and thats the mostimportant thing

Just as a matter of interest as I have never heard of OOTERS before, how far outside Liverpool do you have to live before you can consider yourself one? Or is it a case of if you have to ask you are one?

I enjoy reading your posts Ciggy, but I can't agree here.  I think you're sometimes a little obsessive...there's a big world out there.  You can't tell me what my experiences are, and it's arrogant of you to try.  You've called me an Ooter, but you don't even know if that's true.  You've said that what I'd tell my own son is :censored:.  Who do you think you are?

As for me not being a die hard fan - I don't know how you'd define that:
Someone who'd die for his club? - not me.
Someone who only sees his club and shuts his eyes to everything else? - not me.
Someone who'd put the club above personal relationships? - sorry, another 'no' for me.
Someone who can't stomach the thought of supporting another team i.e. the national team? - I can't claim that either.
Someone who wouldn't jump up and down with the rest of the country if England won the World Cup? - you must be mad.

I'm sure I don't prioritise football as highly as you do Lynds, but I've read many of your rants on this forum and, to be honest, I prefer a more balanced approach to life.  Football is supposed to be about fun, entertainment and socialising.  That's how I try to view it.  If Liverpool lose on a Saturday afternoon, sure I'm disappointed, but I don't let it ruin my evening with my family.

I'm happy for you to express your opinions Ciggy.  I'll happily say you're a more die-hard Liverpool fan than I am.  For one thing, you clearly have contacts and inside information I've never had.  If (for some bizarre reason) Liverpool had one ticket left for the Champions League Final and it could go to me or you, I'd wouldn't even apply.

Where I disagree with you is where you say that my posts, about my experiences, in my life are wrong and the way that you seem to elevate yourself above others.

I'm sure you're just going to tell me I'm all wrong and should be banished from Merseyside with my kind, but I'm very happy with my life and wish you all the best for yours.
:)
