95% of the quotes on here relating transfer speculation never amount to nothing more then rumours anyway.

Versatile enough to play anywhere across the front or even as second striker.  Might not be ideal though to lead the line when Torres isn't fit, but would still be a better option than anyone we have currently to do that.

Tevez is class, I wanted him ahead of Torres when we signed him 2 summers ago (although Torres has turned out better than I ever imagined he would be).

One thing's for sure, I don't think he'll be at United next season.  United have no control over where he goes.  We've done business with Tevez's owners already with the Mascherano deal which might help.  Money is the obvious stumbling block though.

Gut feeling?  Benitez has leaked this just to get to Ferguson and really has no intention of trying to sign Tevez.

I'd agree with that John.

He can play in any position along the front or even behind the striker if Gerrard is injured/rested. Already used to the Premiership so for me I would sign him up depending on if we can get a deal hopefully structured like the mancs have just had where we pay £6 million a year loan for a couple of years then with the option to buy.

I don't agree with this notion that we should never break up the Torres/Gerrard access.

I get the feeling this latest talk from Tevez himself is just designed to nudge utd to get his contract signed. I think Utd will sell Ronaldo in the summer and use the money to buy Tevez.

Ur probably right on that one.
Ditto for the previous post that Rafa is playing more mind games to disrupt the manc scum at the moment with rumours of an offer for Tevez...

but if Tevez doesn't want to go back, and he has offers from other places, he wont sign with United.

Maybe mate....but can you really see Whiskey Nose doing anything OTHER than ALL he can to prevent Tevez moving 30 miles up the road to us ?
Same with Heinze, though in hindsight, maybe it was a blessing that didn't happen....

Kaka said it would be a dream to play for United, uh oh :(

Which, is old news.  But with a high money selling of Ronaldo, who knows what could happen.

Well he still hasn't actually said explicity he wants to go so no point going through all the permutations.

We could really use Tevez. He would be great to play in an attacking 4 in any of the 4 positions and would be ideal to come off the bench. Also if Torres or Gerrard get injured he would prove invalueable and seeing as this season Gezza and Torres have been delt their fair share of injuries then having the option of another World class striker would be the icing on the cake.

He works hard for the team which is Liverpool's no.1 requirement in a player and he can score goals at the highest level. Man Utd will be pumping money into the Kaka fund or w/e and resigning Tevez for 20-30mil will not be on their to do list when they already have Berba etc.

Tevez - £25,000,000

Rafinha - £7,000,000

That Polish winger  :D - £7,000,000

Random youngsters - £5,000,000

I am thinking though that if this minimum of 5 English players thing comes in then we should buy Aaron Lennon or Glen Johnson.

I would welcome Aaron Lennon..... I think he's come on in leaps and bounds and at the moment, I'd have have over Walcott. Theo doesn't have the final ball to complement his other skills as yet. Also, he's prone to be a little less cool and snapish in front of goal.

Lennon on the hand, has impressed me this season.

Boro go down we should sign Adam Johnson. I keep saying it but it'd be good signing. Young, talented winger.

go get him Rafa!

Maybe he's one of the 95 that Rafa is allegedly linked with....which, if true, means we could field a half dozen teams in the PRemiership next season and at least ONE of them should win it for us

we don't really have much of a need for Zhirkov especially if there is a bidding war for him.  Anyukov would probably be a better fit for out team.  Also maybe Alan Dzgoev or Pavel Pogrebnyak if we are talking about people from the Russian League.
