Total c*ck and loved seeing him miss the penalty last year but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's world class."

Better than Carra? - debatable. Carra brute desire to perform for Liverpool makes him his equal if not on ability.

Better captain than Stevie my a-se - A captian inspires , leads and drags the team up by the scruff when necessary . Whan last did Terry do that?

Terry is a  better shouter than Stevie - thats it. Oh and not quite the man for the big occasion is he? Cough CL final cough...

Absolutely agree Kalos.

Whatever your on fivecups i dont want any  :no

Well, as I've said it's about opinion - as I've said I don't like him - he's sneaky, devious - Im made up when I see him bawling but it doesn't take away from his ability.

Maybe you think it's just a London bias but he consistently kept Carra out of the England squad. Carra himself admits Terry is better in his book. He even said Rafa had a private joke with him before a cl match when he told the press Carra was better.

I think Stevie's the best player ever to have played for Liverpool but not the best captain. He's a good captain but not brilliant. Again Terry beat him to the England captaincy whatever that counts for.

Several clubs are interested in signing Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin, according to the Ukranian’s agent.
Voronin joined Hertha Berlin on loan in the summer but is keen on making his move to Hertha permanent at the end of the season.
German giants Schalke 04 are also interested in landing the striker.
“There are offers from other clubs already,” Agent Andrey Golowasch told Bild.
”We are also aware of the interest of Schalke 04, but Berlin is the priority.”
------------------

Spanish side Malaga are interested to sign Liverpool midfielder Nabil El Zhar on loan according to reports in Spain.
The 22-year old Moroccan has only featured eight times for Liverpool this season and Malaga have approached him regarding a short-term deal.
Rafa Benitez has not yet used El Zhar’s services in his starting XI this season, but is believed to have been impressed by his recent displays.
Malaga sporting director Ricardo Rodriguez revealed: “We are working on young players in the European market.
-------------------

Liverpool are chasing Brazilian winger Renato Augusto, according to reports in Germany.
Rafael Benitez has made an official enquiry for the 20-year old Bayer Leverkusen star.
The Liverpool manager has been tracking Augusto for one month and is impressed by the young starlet.
Augusto, who came out of Flamengo’s youth academy, is said to be keen to move to Anfield.
Benitez is looking to address his problem of shortage of right-wingers and Augusto would be a perfect replacement for out-of-favour Jermaine Pennant.
Renato will cost Liverpool close to £10million, and will join fellow Brazilians Lucas, Aurelio and Cavalieri.
-------------------

Rafael Benitez has revealed it is unlikely that Jermaine Pennant will be offered a new contract extension.
Benitez claimed that it would “be very difficult” to offer Pennant a new contract.
Pennant is out of contract in the summer and has had a string of offers from home and abroad.
Benitez said: “I have had a conversation with Jermaine. He is waiting for a good offer and we are waiting for a good offer.
“A new contract for him would be very difficult.”
-----------------------

Liverpool winger Sebastian Leto is set to return from loan at Olympiacos at the end of the current season.

i think you would find that rafa would love a right winger and kuyt would be moved up front with torres, which at the end of the day if it means a proper winger on the right i would take it at least then he could switch between the 3 strikers and if keane was to start hitting the back of the net he WOULD HAVE to leave kuyt out as there would be no place for him on the pitch

but with no money to get a winger good enough we are all just spouting hot air

True - just makes you wonder though, we really should have done something else with the £7 million that bought Dossena.

I know it's hindsight and the left back was (and to some still is) a problem position.

With Keane's £20 million, that's £27 mill that at the moment we can't really say has been spent wisely.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a pre-contract with 'prolific' Wigan hitman Emile Heskey, according to the ever-reliable Daily Mail.
FOOTBALL 2008 Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey - 0

The England forward will arrive at Anfield as a free agent in the summer for what TT can only assume will be a large chunk of change. After all, what self-respecting striker would sign for a manager who hates playing strikers?

The move would represent Heskey's second spell at Liverpool and Rafa Benitez is surely hoping he can improve on his tally of 38 goals from 150 league starts the first time around

you are right in that it seems to be a waste of 27 mil but i think only 7 of that will continue to be a waste, as i think keane will come good once him and rafa sort themselves out ( god knows what the problem is) but lets hope it sorted soon

as for Dossena i just can't see him cutting it in the prem or more so not for a big club like us maybe a smaller club like everton  :nod  trouble is i don't see us getting anywhere near that amount back for him so it will be another loss in money

from the mail...

Wigan's Heskey Kops a deal with his old club Liverpool

Emile Heskey has agreed a pre-contract to return to his old club Liverpool in the summer.
Rafael Benitez is reluctant to pay £4million to sign the England striker from Wigan in the transfer windowand has decided to wait until he is out of contract.

Heskey, 31 yesterday, left Anfield in May 2004 to join Birmingham for £6.25m.
Wigan manager Steve Bruce, who hopes new £4.5m signing Hugo Rodallega will gain a work permit today, is looking at possible replacements and was at Wolves on Saturday to see Sylvan Ebanks- Blake score his 16th goal of the season.
