I think we are flogging a dead horse with Villa, and should move on to other targets before we get stuck like we did last season after the Heinze debacle. We don't want to start the season with no real left sided player.

Maybe knowing what we now know we should have kept hold of either Riise or Kewell?

I still think we'll get him, around 14 i recon but that Polish lad Kuba is some player be made up with him.

Seen much of him?

I wouldnt say a lot but anytime ive seen a game with him involved he always seems to be the player that stands out, like when you watch a game that someone like Arshavin plays in, although he has a few more tricks and i would say a more powerful runner  than Arshavin, two footed can play left, right and in behind but IMO is better coming from a deeper or wide possition. Would create and score, IMO it only a matter of time before he takes a step up but they wont let him go cheap.

aren't we looking for a left winger? as far as I can see he's a right winger... unless that youtube vid is flipped  :D

We do need a right winger though.  Kuyt, Pennant and Benayoun are not going to give us enough quality out there and Gerrard won't play there.  The left is for Babel, he has no where else to play but the left.

No way will Villa and O'Neill accept that and loose face.

O'Neill is as stubborn as they come and the sooner we realize that the better so we can move on.

Villa will problably ask for 18 million when Barry has 6 months left on his contract...

I think they might , if barry hands in a transfer request and also if he openly comes out and starts saying the exactly that he wants to play for LFC and no longer for villa , than we might get him for 10 to 14 million

Barry is all over, its dead. Its like finally getting the car you always lusted after to find there are better models on the market.

Its not a skills issue now, its psycological, (sic..) he must be mentally drained and the fans have lost theior enthusiasm for the deal. It would be a tough starting point for the lad. I personally would pass.

Rangers have agreed a fee with Aston Villa which will see Carlos Cuellar move to the English side for £7.8 million. Footylatest reported several days ago that Cuellar may make a surprise switch to the Liverpool.

Aston Villa triggered his release clause and the deal is almost said to be done.

Cuellar was outstanding for Rangers last season, leading them to the UEFA Cup final but he expressed his desire to leave Ibroz last weekend. He was also named Scottish Football Writers player of the year.

Cuellar told the Rangers website: “My ambition has always been to play for my national team and I believe that playing in the biggest league in the world for Aston Villa will help me realise that.”

Barry's not worth 18m but Kuba ( reputedly ) around 12m although his owner seems to think closer to 20 is worth it? and you know this how? youtube. And do you lot not mean Cole or Kuba or are you actually so deluded you think the owners would pay for both?
