According to reports in the German media, Liverpool are in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund of the Bundesliga for their Polish international winger Jakub Blaszczykowsk.

It has even been reported that a Liverpool representative will arrive in Germany today to begin negotiations to bring him to Anfield.

Liverpool have already raided Dortmund for Phillip Degen earlier in the summer, and are now said to be preparing an initial €8million euro offer for Jakub Blaszczykowsk, who has 13 Polish caps.

When asked about the speculation, Borussia managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke reacted angrily saying that the club will not be accepting any offers.

“We will not let him go. Not for €8m, not for €18m,” Watzke was quoted as saying by sport1.de.

I think we have all heard that before haven't we?

From the little I have heard, negotiations are still ongoing with Villa for Gareth Barry, with a bid of £12million + a player the latest bid.

I think we are flogging a dead horse with Villa, and should move on to other targets before we get stuck like we did last season after the Heinze debacle. We don't want to start the season with no real left sided player.

Maybe knowing what we now know we should have kept hold of either Riise or Kewell?

I still think we'll get him, around 14 i recon but that Polish lad Kuba is some player be made up with him, two completely different players though.

Anyone really seriously think Villa will drop the asking price from 18 million NOW when they have had the same valuation for 3 months...?
No way will Villa and O'Neill accept that and loose face.

O'Neill is as stubborn as they come and the sooner we realize that the better so we can move on.

Villa will problably ask for 18 million when Barry has 6 months left on his contract...
