I would love to sign Heinze, always been a fan of his and I was very surprised when he fell out of favour last season. It would be great to steal him from the mancs if they can't do anything about it :D

According to the rags this morning we are lining up a swap plus cash deal for Manchester City midfielder  Michael Johnson 19, The deal is supposed to involve Johnson plus 3 million for Bellamy.

We want 7 million for Bellamy and rate Johnson at 4 million, it says we have offered Cisse but he chose to go to Marseille.

As with most rags not sure how much truth there is in this, but do we really need ANOTHER midfielder ???

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/07/07/01/manual_124042.html&TEAMHD=soccer

Celtic have fired a warning to Tottenham, Liverpool and Aston Villa by insisting there is no get-out clause in Shunsuke Nakamura's contract.

Italian football agent Angelo Massoni had claimed there may be a clause in Nakamura's contract, which he signed last summer, allowing the Japanese player to leave for a fee well below his market value.

Reports indicated the clause may allow the midfielder to leave Parkhead for as little as £1million with Premier League trio Spurs, Liverpool and Aston Villa all rumoured to be monitoring the situation.

However, Hoops chief executive Peter Lawwell has denied the claims and insists the club are hoping to keep the 29-year-old for at least another two years.

Lawwell is quoted in the News of the World as saying: "Naka is under contract for one more year and we have an option for another 12 months after that.

"We have had no indication from anyone who matters that he wants to leave this club. There is no get-out clause in his contract. End of story."

Le Tallec may be handed new Liverpool chance
tribalfooball.com - July 01, 2007

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez hasn't ruled out holding onto striker Anthony Le Tallec for the coming season.
Le Tallec spent last term on-loan at Sochaux and is the subject of offers from France and England. However, he is back in preseason training with Liverpool and his form with Sochaux has forced Benitez into a rethink over his Anfield future.

Liverpool invite Espanyol to bid for Cisse
tribalfooball.com - July 01, 2007

Liverpool have made contact with Espanyol over a potential deal for striker Djibril Cisse.
El Mundo Deportivo says Liverpool intermediaries made contact with Espanyol last week encouraging them to make an offer for France international Cisse.

Cisse wants a move to Olympique Marseille, but Liverpool are being frustrated in negotiations as the French club will only consider an initial loan arrangement.

Liverpool make contact with Reggina striker Bianchi
tribalfooball.com - July 01, 2007

Liverpool have made contact with Reggina over the availability of striker Rolando Bianchi.
Bianchi, 24, was one of the big revelations of last season's Serie A campaign and he has been linked with AC Milan and Juventus.

It's emerged that on Friday talks between Reggina and Napoli for Bianchi stalled after Liverpool made an approach for the prolific forward.

Liverpool want Johnson in Man City Bellamy offer
tribalfooball.com - July 01, 2007

Manchester City have been told they can land Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy on the cheap - if they include one of their top kids in their offer.
The News of the World says Liverpool are willing to sell the Wales international to City for £3 million - if they include midfielder Michael Johnson in their bid.

Johnson enjoyed an outstanding late season breakthrough at Eastlands last term and caught the eye of Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, who also remains a big fan of City pal Nedum Onuoha.

This one is worthy of Welsh Wizards wonderful world of w@nk;

MASCH MAY KOP OUT
EXCLUSIVE
By Alan Nixon

JAVIER MASCHERANO has not signed for Liverpol in a full-time transfer yet and could move on this summer.

The Argentina midfield star was only on loan at the Kop for the second half of last season and Liverpool have not yet agreed to pay the fee of around £16 million.

He has yet to buy a house on Merseyside because of all of the uncertainty - Kop boss Rafa Benitez has already tied up midfielders Momo Sissoko and Xabi Alonso on long deals - and he may leave. Liverpool want to keep Mascherano on loan for another year, but there is the chance of a surprise departure.

The news will alert incoming Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson.

I don't wanna go ending up with egg on my face here but I seriously doubt Mascherano would walk out of Liverpool to go to Man City. He's only been at Anfield for 6 months and has already regained his form and made it to a champions league final. The only way Man city can get a European final is to host one.
This is nothing more than tabloid bullshit on a Sunday!  :noStory Link

Don't know much about this kid from Man City. Another midfielder though.....is rafa planning in playing a 2-7-1 formation this season!!

Also i think we can use Bellamy as bait on another deal that would suit us better (i.e. Tevez from West Ham). West Ham are after a striker with pace as they're resigned to losing Tevez. Why not offer them Bellamy + £20m for him!

If we were to buy Tevez we would not pay West ham we would pay the company who own him.

A lot of people still fail to realise that West Ham have no say in the future of Tevez' career.

I'm confused. Why we need another centre midfielder? we already got...er including masch and lucas... 5 centre midfielders... Stupid rumours indeed. Anyway, i guess, it's true about Spurs chasing Naka, Spurs got a habit of buying all the players they don't need.

Nakamura is a wide midfield player.

I live in Scotland and almost all of my family are Celtic fans. I have watched Nakamura a few times and there is no doubting the guy has ability but he is NOT what we are looking for. He is a dead ball specialist and a very good link player but he is not the dynamic wide player we are looking for. He shirks tackles and is known to 'hide' in games when he doesn't really fancy it and has taken a kick or two! This is especially true when he plays away from home.

He is not in the Rafa mould so I can't see this going any further than the pages of this forum. At least I hope not anyway!!

I'm also based up in Scotland mate and I agree with most of what you say about Nakamura.  It's correct he's not the out and out winger we're after, but that's not to say that for a decent price he wouldn't be a good addition to the squad - especially now Garcia's leaving and if the Benayoun deal doesn't happen.

He's got good feet, is a very good passer and is excellent at set pieces.  He won't go by a man though, he won't score goals from open play and he's pretty lightweight.  Can play on either side of midfield.

I think we could do with someone in the squad who's got something extra when it comes to set pieces, and Nakamura's better than anything we have in that respect.  I'm not just talking about scoring from free kicks, I'm talking about quality of corners and free kick deliveries into the box.

I'll admit I don't think this is the time to be buying more squad players, but this is a unique opportunity to get a player on the relative cheap who has something that no one else in our squad offers.
