RAHEEM STERLING - Official Thread

The Premiership - General Discussion

Postby god_bless_john_houlding » Fri Jul 10, 2015 4:00 pm

Better players than Raheem Sterling have come and gone yet this club remains the biggest in the world. We will still be the biggest in the world once Raheem Sterling has left, so if he doesn't want to be a part of that then he can leave.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Liverpool’s owners are prepared to let Raheem Sterling rot in the reserves rather than allow him to leave on the cheap.

Manchester City launched their new bid for the youngster when they made contact with Liverpool on Friday, and have made it clear they will follow that up on Saturday with a formal written offer of £40million, plus £4m in add-ons.

But the Reds' Fenway powerbrokers in Boston are ready to dig in their heels over their demand of £50m or no deal.

So it’s being widely reported that Man City have bid £40mil +£4mil in add ons and we will reject it, holding out for £50mil. I think if that bid had come in a week ago we would have accepted it but after his antics over the past few days we will be determined not to be seen to have been pushed into a corner. FSG have already shown with the Suarez situation that they won't let players and agents walk all over them.

Him and his agent really are quite thick.

The cynic in me suggests that all the media nonsense is merely a piece of theatre put together by LFC, MCFC and Aidy Ward, paving the way
for Liverpool to sell another key player to a rival.

Deal done long ago and we are just being prepped for he outcome.

To the detriment of the reputations of sterling and Rodgers? I don't think so...

Anyway, I do think we should just accept the 40 million city is offering now and move on. This saga is not helping anyone. With the money we could buy that striker we need.

Sterling and his agent quite clearly been tapped up by City a while back IMO. Don't think would have heard a peep out of him with regards to moving if it hadn't been for that.

Now the whole story is being played out to get him his move. Just shows the times we are currently in where even our promising young players are being picked off.

But he can feck off. Way him and his agent have played this out just stinks

That sounds like BS for the media. We are not going to pay him to play in the reserves for a year while he whines, before we let him go for peanuts next year when he buys out the final year of his contract.

Sterling included in the squad for our trip to Malaysia ,no Balotelli which I find a tad strange since he rushed back to start training so soon after
his bereavement .

Can and Ilori I can understand being afforded extended leave after their exertions  in the U21 competition, but I expected the chance to be given
to Mario given Daniels recuperation  ???

Maybe BR is worried what the prankster roaming around Patpong would get up to   :D

More seriously, why take Balotelli on a pre season tour ? hopefully this is a case of sending out the message that he has no future with us.

Mario's still probably got the funeral to go to.
Condolences to him and his family.

I believe they were the reasons behind  him declining the opportunity to tour mate ,and I echo your sentiments that our thoughts are with him at this sad time.

Manchester City lodged a £45million bid for Raheem Sterling yesterday. The player is aware of the bid. Sources close to Sterling said it was '50-50' whether he would catch the plane with the rest of the squad this morning.  (Oliver Holt)
