As much as we hate the purple nosed kunt, we have to admit that as a footy mgr he knew what he was doing and in terms of success is up the with the all time greats.

Glad to see the f'ucking back of him   :buttrock

Still one of the greatest British managers though. I might even miss him.

Since the start of the prem Man Utd have played more mins of injury time when losing than anyone else in the same period !

Agreed.

He's right up there with Shanks and Busby, and will be interested to see how the next manager does with his shadow looming large over the club as a director

Not for me...Shanks was the man who laid the foundations and started it all. He's far ahead of Bob, Busby and Whiskey Nose

Can fully understand that but Bob took those foundations and took them to levels that won't be beaten

3 European Cups in 8 Years

6 Titles

A total of 20 trophies in just 8 seasons

And the whole time doing it with humility and respect.

If he had carried on for another 8 seasons the list would be easily doubled.

Shanks built the foundation and then Bob built the empire.

Have to agree with Benny here.

All hail to Shanks but It took a very special manager to take his work to the next level, I'm not sure that even Shank's himself (if only maybe privately) would have expected the level of domestic and European domination we go on to exert during Bob's reign.

I'm just relieved to see an old man in the media spotlight and it isn't for touching up kids !

A controversial yet ultimately very successful manager who presided over what was an underachieving team given their fan base and money nut he brought them the success they craved for all of 27 years after the Busby era and you have to credit him with that.

I despise the man but respect his record as the most successful manager in British Football. Spiky as feck and vindictive to all who dared to disagree with him whether that was the BBC, FA, own Players, opposition managers, opposition players, the England Team, Journalists etc.............

Pound for pound I believe Bob Paisley was a better manager but then again I'm a Liverpool red but there is no denying the man is a legend of the modern game and with the current penchant for twitchy chairman who fire first and ask questions later I'm not sure we will see the like of him again.

With Moyes the probable successor it's reassuring to know that Liverpool Football Club and the hatred there of still defines the Mancs as they look to another LFC hating Scot to continue the poison coming from Castle Greyskull toward Liverpool !

I can only hope and pray that now that old b@stards gone, we will have a fair footballing field to play on.

For me, feck his record, he is the most corrupt b@stard in the game, the fact no one dares question him proves it to be so.

Glad to see the back of the gum chewing, whiskey drinking fkg hypocrite. I cannot bring myself to write one decent thing about such a downright nasty individual.

As for who was the better manager between Bob Paisley or Ferguson I'm not really that bothered. Quite simply Bob Paisley was the BETTER MAN and never once in his life did he behave like a spoiled brat who would go to whatever lengths were necessary to get what he wanted. Fk all the accolades Ferguson was a Grade A sh.it and that is how I will remember him.

David Moyes..never won a trophy, never won at Old Trafford, Anfield, Stamford Bridge or The Emirates, replacing the most successful manager of the last 30 years. Yikes.
Didn't Rooney leave Everton because he had a falling out with Moyes? Could be off?

Absolutley Outstanding Roll of honour there. Most teams in the world would be doing well to achieve that in a 100 year period.
Also considering they have either finished first or second since 91-92, bar 3 times finishing 3rd since that period, respect is due.

But lets hope that will be that now. Man Ure have been spoiled rotten over the last 25 years.
