Sure he has done a decent job at Everton but joining a top club is a huge step up.

I hope he becomes their Hodgson.

He is someone who is buddies with the Alkie and can be controlled - proper yes man

So United will have a new manager, Chelsea will have a new manager, City and Everton might need new managers and still some rumours of Wenger possbily leaving...

Potentially big opportunity for us to sort ourselves out early this summer and maybe take advantage of a few teams above us in transition.

Certainly will make the summer interesting

Chelsea seem to be getting players in early with Schurrle possibly being signed soon

Unfortunately they all still have CL to attract players but Spurs and the BS could struggle

I salute his achievements  but I hate him as a person. No one will ever accuse him of being a gentleman.

No more of this

Still one of the greatest British managers though. I might even miss him.

Ryan Giggs has ruled himself out of the job to replace Sir Alex Ferguson, he said he would rather spend time with his brother's family  :grinning:

Made up father time has finally caught up with the  cantankerous old fecker ,but the rivalry between United and the reds just wont seem the
same ,especially if a foreign manager comes in . Abhorrent little man ,but I will miss his tantrums ,they were a definite highlight, and for me
personally kind of diffused United's success , especially his rants after a few wee drams at United's Xmas parties.

Absolutely delighted he retires still shorn of two European cups ,that may haunt him for ever ,knowing our luck though he will end up on the
FA committee.

yeah as you say 27 years is a hell of a long time, over that length of time you sort of get used to the arl ###### being around.
god knows what it`s going to be like for the united fans.
when he first arrived in 86 you wouldnt have dreamed that he`d still be there in 2013, the millenium seemed miles away back then never mind 13 years after that.
it`s like rodgers staying here until 2040

He has been the best manager in the world in the last 30 years or so. He created some great sides and some not so great ones (take this season's ManUtd squad for example) but he always found a way of instilling that winning mentality in his players. To be honest, I'd be delighted if they hire Moyes as his replacement. Can see them not winning anything for quite some time under him.
