I hope he comes straight back into the first team. Dossena the other night looked like a right waste of space.

To be fair, he puts some decent crosses in does Rocky - but I hope Insua is ready to go right back in - he looked excellent when in there before.

Yeah for me Dossena hasn't done anything impressive at all to make Rafa not bring Insua back into the 1st team. I hope Rafa plays him against Madrid and the mancs also. Will be good to see how he stands up to the big teams, mind you he done ok against Arsenal I thought.

If Aurelio gets hurt Insua should play ahead of Dossena, Doss is good going forward but he's still such a  liability defensively I'm not convinced on him at all still unless it is against teams we will have a lot of possession against then he actually helps provide width.

Good going forward? He probabaly put in 4 or 5 crosses against Everton only 1 of which was ok-ish. The rest were :censored: poor. And thats not even taking into account the bit where he got the ball and just lost posession of it becasue he could not control it properly 1st time. I really hope Dossena is sold at the first chance come the Summer. I suppose we can be thankful that he is considered good enough to be 1st choice LB for Italy so hopefully it shouldn't be a problem finding a buyer.

Aurelio on the other hand is generally a good passer and crosser of the ball but defensive wise is not so good. But he is so injury prone I just think its best to have him as backup and have Insua as 1st choice.

Good to know he is back and Insua should be first choice. He is also young and should get more opportunity as he is improving and definitely our best left back this season. If Insua wasn't called up for the U20 cup, Dossena might have been sold already.

Aurelio 6/10 : offers more in theory going forward than he normally delivers, ok defensively

Dossena 4/10 : looking somewhat better defensively, he couldn't look much worse, but his crossing the other day was attrocious. Needs to put a more complete game together or will prove a complete waste of £7m

Insua 6/10 : looking decent in the games I've seen him play in, maybe a long way from the accomplished LB we really need, but honestly the more experienced Aurelio and "Italian International" Dossena look no better despite more chances to impress.

Agger : worth a try at LB if we're not going to use him as CB? Offers height to defend and attack corners, can carry the ball forward and is as decent a passer as any of our back four. Can also score goals, if he shows able to cross then I'd say he could be scoring 7/10 or 8/10 as LB. If Carra can be used at RB, why not?

I'm sure I read somewhere that Agger played LB in the past.  I'd like to see him given a chance on the left.  His extra height when we are defending set pieces wouldn't hurt either.

I'm pretty certain that he has played on the wings, maybe left, for Denmark on several occasions.

Agger, that is.

Argentina did NOT qualify for the U20 World Cup which is going to take place in late september, early october

Ronald Huth and Paraguay did however, and Huth played GREAT.

at left back at the moment i don't think insua would shift fabio, as he seems to get better with games under his belt, also his deliver from set pieces is better than gerrard and xabi imho
