Im very confused about this statement, so we should lay off the owners cause Lucas gets slated  ???  How does that work?
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Lucas and Kuyt are good for a defensive setup, that's why Rafa has hard-on for them.

They are both good at pestering the opposition, tracking back etc but they create very little.

They are both stiflers, not creators.

Well didnt kuyt help create as well as score the second and lucas involved in the first as well as the run into the box which we should of had a penalty ???

I see your point mate but i think in general the lads statement is correct.
Both players are not really what you would call creative but are more workers that stifle the opposition.

I think he is right with the generalisation of both players being in that mould.

Oh they arent the silky creative players with bags of dribbling skills etc but they do create thier fair number of opportunities for a good attacking chance - more so lucas lately who seems to be playin a little higher at the moment .

He is mate and it is an improvement but there's no way i could agree that these two are creative players.
Their passing isnt positive enough probably 9 times out of 10.
There is not enough penetration from either player.

But there is room in the team for players like that, you need players who work like they do.
Where you have a problem is if there isnt other players in the starting line up to give the team the creativity.
Swap Riera for Aurellio and Mascherano for Aquilani and that gives more of a creative line up and balance.

Just so everyone knows i am not in favour of dropping Javier for Aquilani, it would be lucas that always makes way for me.
I am just saying that the attacking and defensive balance of the midfield with the four we have played in the last game is heavily centre around being more defensive.

Gotta agree with that spot on mate - they arent natural creative players - totally agree but those are the sort of players needed to give balance - as arsenal are finding out - they have 11 lovely footballing players with lots of creativity but no bite or hassle .

Reira/Yossi out left and then Aqua in for Lucas or Masher (which is what i see happening once aqua is fit ) would see us having a lot more balance .

I can see why its a bit more heavyly balanced towards defence at the moment which imo is down to player availability and us leaking goals - sort us out at the back and then bring those returning players into a solid team and it clicks .

Just read the Rafa pre season hype and some of Lucas's own overblown comments and compare them with the reality of a player who has clearly shown over the last three months that he is not up to the job.

To suggest that he played well against Everton is nonsense. Before Mascherano's fluke goal Everton looked more likely to score and just take a look at their team sheet. We were playing a very poor team and we were still utter s.*i*e!

If YOU had as much to say about the owners as YOU do about Rafa and Lucas things might change . YOU AND YOUR ILK need to get YOUR priorities right mate.

And if we had listened to the likes of your ilk we would have sold to some bunch of unscrupulous fkn Arabs and have ended up in an even bigger mess than we are in now.

As for priorities Igor I don't think defending the chronic ineptitude of Lucas would ever be amongst mine but it does say something about you!

Yeah thats exactly right.
Thats why all the press that harp on about wenger and Arsenal's beautiful football praising him every week need to get a grip.
Arsenal have had the same problem for 3 seasons, a poor goalkeeper and no balance to the team regarding workers to clever footballers.
He has failed to rectify that and despite what he achieved early doors at Arsenal he has failed in recent seasons.
Do they really need to have so many similar players ?
All top players and great to watch but no variance and balance.
I bet Mascherano in that team would make a major difference.

Hello -  it's you that's defending Lucas! I could put up a more convincing case to keep G & H at the club rather than Lucas!  :sleep
