i think everyone's missin the point about why we dont like england.
me personally, i dont choose to dislike them, i just dont get the same feeling from watching them or supporting them as i do with liverpool.
as a kid i watched liverpool or was updated on their progress on a weekly basis (as thats how often they play). your life begins to revolve around how they are doin week after week, year after year. for me, i felt ( and have done since) that they represent me, as ambassadors for the city where i live. the stadium is in the city where i live, and regular visits onl enhanced the passion, aswell as every day of your life hearing people talk about them, seeing people treat LFC like its their religion. your life is lfc. they represent you culturally. "i am from liverpool and this team will put me and my city in the spotlight when they do well."
england on the other hand, you hardly ever see them, they only get talked about when a major tournament is on. they dont become involved in your life or anyone else around you even nearly as much as liverpool would to a supporter. you see them on the tv very rarely compared to liverpool, and when you do, and you watch it, you dont get the same feeling of a bond that you would with lfc, for all the reasons stated above. you dont have any of this with england. and so its not that i dont support them, but i'm just not nearly as ar***. i also dont feel as though they represent me and where i'm from. i'm not saying i'm not english, but the culture of liverpool and the culture of england are very different, and people in liverpool dont really see themselves as being part of the whole english culture. we are a culture unto ourselves, and our football team means a lot more to us cos of it.
then there's all the reasons regarding people like beckham and all the other k***heads that really pi** me off.
i just dont feel any connection with them, they're not a part of my life the way liverpool are.
(and they're SHI*E)
its not the chilli sauce on kebabs that give you ring-sting, its the actual meat. had one without chilli, and still had ring-sting. the chilli's only there to mask the nonsense they stuff inside that bread.
