If we raise about twelve million for Babel and Voronin, then I would like to see a big signing

Someone got a translation for this?  I get the gist but am clueless about the actual references.  So, he's not a nutter, then, Mick?  :upside:

I dread to think who Rafa might buy, he has signed some very good players but he has signed far far too many mediocre players.

He needs to start bringing in some real quality to improve the squad, it's woefully lacking attacking and right sided options.

Remember when we played BL in the CL in 05 and Rafa turned up at that pub full of Liverpool supporters over there in Deutschland?  I think Taff's making a joke based on that... :D

How close you do you all think Nemeth or Pacheco is to being backup to the first team?

which alves are you thinking off sabre ?

Ooops.

I only know my local league and Liverpool, so I take it there's a new Alves out there right?

I watch little international football bar Liverpool and Spanish league, sorry for that. How is he as a player Gybs?

P.S. I've looked google and I didn't remember Boro had him. I should start watching MOTD to know more rival players of this league.

I think Alves has struggled to make an impact at Boro you might expect for £12m signings, you could probably watch most of Boro's games on MOTD and still not see a lot of him. According to wikipedia he's scored 10 goals in 40 Premiership appearances for Boro :-

Alfonso Alves (Boro)

07/08 : Premiership 6 goals in 11 apps (6 in 14 overall)
08/09 : Premiership 4 goals in 19 apps (7 in 21 overall)

Not bad, not great. Can't see them selling him for less than £9m, he might want to come here but I don't think he'd be an ideal signing. Three of his six Premiership goals last season came in that drubbing Boro gave Citeh, he's not shown enough signs of being worth the £12m Boro paid for him.

I read rumours this morning that Pompey will want £16m for Johnson. Personally I think that is way over the top and don't believe they would ask that much, didn't they sell Defoe for that or less? (and he's a striker!) I also read we are being linked with El Hamdaoui, a Moroccan striker. (bbc gossip, sh1 trag the source)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_hamdaoui

I first thought he must be over 30 as he's been around a bit, but I must have been thinking of a Moroccan with a similar name.

Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

If they stay up it, and it looks like they will then they will probably demand that. He's an England internationl too so it was always going to be a hefty price tag. Shame as I thought he would be perfect for us. I can't see utd buying him as they have that Da Silva. Arsenal already have Sagna and Chelsea...well didn't they sell him before? The only team I can think of who would buy him is Spurs. Despite the price tag I think we should make a try for him. The bad thing for us is he only signed a new contract recently so that puts Pompey in a stronger position.
