I think that could work. Tevez can shift if any of Torres, Gerrard or Kuyt get injured. Riera as cover.
Ideally obviously he plays as a striker but I think he's good enough to play in this formation rather than just sit on the bench until Torres is subbed\injured. He'd be a better option than Riera IMO (who I rate quite highly).
What I've been thinking and I think I suggested it in the "most improved" thread. The thing with Tevez is he needs to play a lot or he might as well stay where he is, I wouldn't want to move Gerrard and for me Riera is the weakest attacking link. He's better on the ball than Kuyt, but less end product. We shift Gerrard to the right and we could lose half his goals, we'd lose all Kuyt's and keeping Riera on the left could simply mean we end up scoring less goals than we do without Tevez.
I'm not what you might call a big fan of Tevez, but I can see how he could work in our team. He's more creativity, vision and goalscoring than a lot of our existing players, and the split of 6-4 in terms of defensive-attacking split would be stronger with plenty of workers willing to help out defensively. I could see us winning some of the games we draw with Tevez at Anfield, if we try playing orthodox wingers then we lose goalscoring potency and put way too much pressure on Torres to score.
But I'm not sure that back four doesn't need reviewing. I'm not completely convinced by Arbeloa, Sktrel or Insua and think we could find stronger full-backs from an attacking and defensive perspective - either or both
