Diogo's coming, that's what I'm hearing. My mate is a huge Olympiacos fan and just got back from a 2 month holiday in Greece. All he's been saying is Diogo is coming to Liverpool. Don't know where he picked it up from but I thought I'd put it out there..

David Trezeguet's agent has responded positively to reports linking his client with a move to AC Milan.
The France international has seen his relationship with Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri pushed to breaking point in recent weeks and he is unlikely to remain in Turin past the summer.
That has alerted interested parties to his possible availability, with speculation beginning to circulate as to where he will end up next.
Milan are one of those sides believed to be keen on the prolific frontman, and Antonio Caliendo believes Trezeguet would be interested in a switch to Giuseppe Meazza.
"When a team like Milan consider David then it is good news for me," he told Corriere dello Sport.
"Milan are a great club and that confirms that my client is a valid champion.
"But I will only start negotiating once the season is over. Trezeguet is under contract with Juventus and his situation must be addressed with the club first."
Ligue 1 outfit Lyon and Spanish giants Barcelona are also said to be keen on launching a summer raid for Trezeguet's services.

Trezeguet is past it surely, he's been injured all season. A decent signing for the bitters perhaps but I dont think he can help us much.
Diogo has has a good season in Athens, he's a firm favourite with the fans over there. Not a prolific striker this season (15 in all competitions) but an exciting talent and technically good. Wouldnt pay a lot for him tho as he'd be a bit of a wildcard...6-8m would be worth a punt but then again thats not what where I would put our finances this summer...on another 'punt'.

Rafael Benitez launches bold bid to bring Carlos Tevez to Anfield

Rafael Benítez is preparing to antagonise Sir Alex Ferguson once more with an audacious bid to sign Carlos Tévez.
The Argentina forward is increasingly resigned to leaving Manchester United at the end of the season, with Real Madrid his most likely destination. Benítez has signalled Liverpool’s willingness to join Chelsea, Manchester City and Inter Milan in the mêlée for his signature.
Ferguson has not yet given up hope of retaining Tévez’s services after his complicated two-year lease arrangement expires at the end of the season, but the forward’s growing discontent means that he will consider a move away from Old Trafford — even if United manage to reach an agreement with the companies that hold his economic rights.
Tévez, who joined United in a controversial move from West Ham United in August 2007, would be likely to cost any other club more than the £22 million that United have to pay at the end of the season to turn the player’s loan into a permanent deal. Benítez, though, is determined to test the water.
The Spaniard knows that United have no control over Tévez if and when he leaves Old Trafford and that the Barclays Premier League leaders would not receive any money, with the transfer fee instead going to the companies, headed by Kia Joorabchian, that own the player’s economic rights.
Tévez, 25, is frustrated at his loss of favour since Dimitar Berbatov’s arrival at Old Trafford from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, having not started any of United’s four matches in the Champions League knockout phase.
Madrid are favourites to sign Tévez should he end his two-year stint at United, with Florentino Pérez, who is expected to be elected Real’s new president next month, confident of delivering the forward as part of a wide-reaching rebuilding operation that is expected to include a world-record bid for Cristiano Ronaldo, the United forward. But Liverpool have registered their interest in signing Tévez if he wishes to stay in England — and if the price is right.
Tévez declared in an interview with an Argentine radio station this week that “in my situation, an exit [from United] will be the best solution” and that “there are other options for next season”, citing interest from Real and Inter as well as other clubs, of which there are now three in England monitoring the situation.
Ferguson, the United manager, would bristle at the idea of the forward joining just about any of the interested clubs. He blocked Gabriel Heinze’s proposed move to Liverpool in August 2007 and said of Real this season that he “wouldn’t sell that mob a virus”.
As revealed in The Times a week ago, Tévez concluded that his future lay away from United after being dropped for the 1-0 victory away to Porto in the Champions League quarter-final, second leg.

Tevez would be ideal imo.
Versatile enough to play anywhere across the front or even as second striker. Might not be ideal though to lead the line when Torres isn't fit, but would still be a better option than anyone we have currently to do that.
Tevez is class, I wanted him ahead of Torres when we signed him 2 summers ago (although Torres has turned out better than I ever imagined he would be).
One thing's for sure, I don't think he'll be at United next season. United have no control over where he goes. We've done business with Tevez's owners already with the Mascherano deal which might help. Money is the obvious stumbling block though.
Gut feeling? Benitez has leaked this just to get to Ferguson and really has no intention of trying to sign Tevez.

What do you mean judge by compensation?
Transfer fee would be around 30 million. It's only 22 million for United to sign him outright as I understand as they've already paid a whack of the 30 million as terms of the loan.

The only way I would take Santa Cruz would be if he was free or next to nothing. Too much money for an old guy otherwise. If we are going to spend money let it be on someone proven consistently or top class.
Tevez would be brilliant. Also maybe we can use the fact we already have Masch to our advantage with that Kia guy negotiating. He's already dealt with us so surley he can work something out.
