too bad he turns 20 on April 1.

come on man do you really think rafa or anyone else woulnt have bought rooney if they had the chance

we would have aguero in our team right now if we had money and hes probally the best youngster int he world at the moment

The lad has a raw talent.. but he is short on pace.

I would like to see him go out on loan for a season at a club like Sunderland or Wigan to really cut his teeth..

The guy has got bags and bags of potential just needs to mature and harness it but looks good for the future

I agree Pacheco is different to Gerrard, as you said I meant playing just behind Torres when Gerrard is injured.

As for the comment "Too bad he's 20 on the 1st April".
???

Tell you what, I've always rated N'Gog as a good prospect. He's shown flashes of real quality in many of the appearances he's made for us. I'd have him on the bench over Voronin anyday of the week.

Good performance last night - spent most of the night isolated and having three defenders on him all the time - but a number of occasions he held up the ball and laid it off nice and simple to an oncoming midfielder - had a cracking turn and ghosted past a couple of defenders on the half way line before he was brought down from behind and off course his goal and was an excellent first touch and turn to finish nicely

Thirded minus one makes it back to seconded. I've always thought he was garbage, utterly without a clue. Fair play though he did take his goal well last night.

Well based purely on his goal last night mate he's probably got a fraction more ability than I gave him credit for. It was a footballers first touch and turn, whereas previously to me he has looked absolutely clueless.

Despite it appearing that I was probably being overly harsh on him, the fact that after 300 games of Rafa in charge of the club he is our second choice striker though is an absolute disgrace. In the good Liverpool squads, he wouldn't have been fourth choice never mind second.

The blanket throwers can big him up all they like, and there is the possibility that one day he'll make a player, but we are approaching a calendar year where he has been next in line behind Torres. Is there another team in the top ten of the Premiership where he would be second choice? I don't think so, and in the top six there is only us he'd get a game at all.

The lad did well last night and worked hard.  Its nonsense that some people have stated he was muscled off by third tier defenders, they are still full time pros and play in a tough league, and Ngog stood up for himself.  I was happy as he seemd up for it and obviously has some decent skill.

Its the first time I remember him starting and that makes a difference.  Ok he is back up for Torres but surely Kuyt or Babel would take that role before him.  He hasnt started his career like Owen and is an established international at 18 but that is quite rare.  Henry at 20 wasnt setting the world on fire so you could use that as a counter argument.   Torres is an exceptional player and anyone in that role will be on the bench compared to him, so we havent the money to buy a 20 million striker to sit on the bench even if one wanted to.

IMO I was genuinely pleased with last night and think the lad will do well.  His desire is there and he does look like a good prospect

He did play well last night fair play to him.
Took his goal very well with a great first touch.

There were also some evry good turns and he looked far more comfortable than i have seen him in the past.

Having said that like Mick said he really shouldnt be our next option behind Torres. Our striking options are probably the worst in the whole top half of the table.
Even everton have a better quartet than us imo.

If Torres were to have a sustained spell out this season we would be rubber ducked.

What odds he isn't even in the squad for the game at the weekend?
