Is it just me or has Steven Gerrard lost his edge over the last 12 months, I know obviously he lost form, but I feel after he got vilafied for the tackels on Boatang and Naysmith, he seems to be a lot more reluctant to go in for 50 - 50s.
I think Gerrard has the potential to be better than Keane, and Vieara but he needs to rekindle that something extra he used to have, although he is still good I don't think he is fulfilling his potential, he could be one of the best players in the world.
I wouldn't mind if he got 1 or 2 red cards a season as long as we get the real Steven Gerrard.
There is not a chance in hell of Stevie ever losing his " Edge". Even if he had both his legs cut off he would still be on the pitch biting the ankles of all the so-called hardmen of the premiership. I think that him being given the responsibility as club captain is going to help him develop into the best Central Midfielder in the world, and better still he's a scouser too.

This is true but he set such high standards for him self when he broke into the team that by this time I expected him to be better, one of the best in the world, he can still do it though.
Forget Beckham, forget scholes, Butt, Campbell, Ferdinand, Cole, Rooney Without Gerrard England are nothing. With Gerrard they can win the European championship.(Just look at the stats when this kid is about) That's how important and good the kid is. Oh but that I had the talent of his little toe nail on his left (Weakest) foot.

He is going to be the most important Liverpool player in the future but he has to learn that sometimes the best ball is the easy ball, not the attempted 50 yard defense splitter that will probably go wrong.

What I expected from Gerrard by now, was that when people talk about their world teams Gerrard would be in contention, he and Ronney are England best players, but Gerrard can be the ultimate player, he can do everything.
