Torres should be at full fitness by now and from what I hear Keane is set to return to the squad so we should win. Come on!

Actually we need to win 6 or 7 games in a row.
Why? United has one game in the bag. (So, 3 points of advantage for them).
We cant end the league with the same points than United because the goal average (So 4 points of advantage for them).

We have to play at Old Trafford (So 7 points of advantage for them).

Conclusion: We must be 8 points better than them in the next 16 games. We have to do a great effort winning 6+ games in a row if we wanna have any possibility and try not losing the United game.

"Buy Kuyt pressures the fullback, something Rafa picks him for. Don't you think a player should listen to the manager?"

"Well Babel doesn't get chance to pressure the fullback because he isn't picked. Kuyt has no pace, no football brain".

When looking at the performances against Hull, Stock, Fulham and West Ham that is easier said than done. It's still possible though and it's not over till it's over. Utd are still dropping points so we need to make sure when they do we are there to captitalise. And now we have Europe to think about again also.

We cannot fail again. No more draws or Benitez will be known as Mr. Draw  :glare:

Every game from here on in is a must win, no sh!t Liverpool, 3 points no less. Batter Chelsea at the weekend and keep the momentum goin for the rest of the season. No more fukking around

This is it now. We all said at the start of the seaon that if we can stay within a few points of Utd afte xmas then we have a chance. Well it's Feb (more or less) and we ARE within a few points of them. In theory we can do this, but we have to sort out our current form and we need our big players to start scoring - Torres and Keane please. If we can do that then we will have a great chance but all this off field talk about Rafa and the owners keeps throwing a spanner in the works.

Utd 0-5 win tonight shows the punishment we will now get for squandering most of our home games this season.

I want to see Rafa under pressure and this is it.

Now we will see if we have got what it takes to win the league.

If we show a lame performance tommorow and have only one goal scoring chance, then its obvious title ambition is premature.

im hoping we win, but if we struggle, serious questions then have to asked.

Also point to note wigan will not be a walkover.. 7th in the table playing decent not going to be an easy game.  Well to be quite frank no game is a walkover from now on. We thought stoke will be but they held us and gave us a feckin stroke..

It's interesting that keane has made the squad. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts, with Torres on the bench. I wouldn't have doen things the way they have been, but I could understand the decision. Torres is coming back from injury and the feeling might be that he can't take 2 games in four days. I've no problem with Keane starting, but I think maybe giving him a bit of encouragement over the last few weeks or even months might have been the way to go.

If we continue to play Torres repeatedly, we do run the risk of him breaking down IMHO. Hamstrings are very difficult to get totally right, and in his case a bit of rotation at the moment makes sense. Given that, the treatment of Keane becomes all the more baffling/silly.

They've just lost 2 of the 3 best players, so we should win this.
