Infact, I'd suggest going one upfront against Newcastle and dropping Keane completely. Bring in Lucas and Mascherano and playing Gerrard out of position again. Bennayoun set a goal up two so we should swap him and also change the back four completely as it kept a clean sheet.

You got that right lad  :(

Great!

Made up...

I can't believe this fool of a manager. I really can't.

Watch Guthrie today aswell, compare him directly to Lucas.

I'm absoloutely fuming! We had better win today. Simple as that. Rediculous selection!

fool of a manager ? ! Seems his team selection won 5-1 so i guess he got it right . And guthrie ? ! Did he play today or was he too warm and cosy inside lucas's pocket all game long .

I' cant believe that people are still listing to Fo Dne on here.  The guy's a complete fool.

What a wnker Fo Dne really is! Ok a lot of us probably thought it was a weird team selection but we have a bit more about us than to come on here slating the manager before a ball is even kicked! Time for you to fk off pal and don't come back - you haven't got a fkn clue - I honestly think you are a bluenose in disguise - COME ON MO DS BAN THE STUPID CLOWN ONCE AND FOR ALL !!

BRILLIANT TEAM PERFORMANCE BY RAFA AND AND HIS REDS! COME ON!

'Ya mong!

Keane had a slight strain to his right calf muscle , that why he didn't play "YER MONG".
UP THE PURPS !!!

cheers for that igor , so he wasnt dropped then , imagine that , is that more humble pie people should swallow . Think maybe people should get hold of facts and see what happens before slagging off our manager .

To be fair, if things had gone t!ts up today there would have been a crowd of people on here saying "what the fk was Rafa playing at picking that team!" The fact that Newcastle have possibly the worst defence I have seen this season (good goalkeeper) obviously helped a bit too.

I don't think it was clever selection today, unless Rafa had watched them previously and thought even he and Sammy Lee could score against Newcastle? :D

Lucas had a great game BTW, and Masch showed a bit of vision with that great through ball for Benny for Gerrard's first.

As for Keane, he was fit enough for the bench, so I can't say I really believe he was injured.

Great result which we should all enjoy, rather than asking for bans because someone offered his opinion BEFORE THE GAME.

thats half the problem mate , people should of waited until the game had been played out before slagging anyone one off namely the manager . Whatever reason he had for putting the team he did out he has been proved right by the players he had faith in , maybe we should start doing the same and show some faith in our manager and all the players instead of the constant critism they face these days by fans of their own club .

When quizzed about the team selection and the omission of in-form Robbie Keane, he said: "We have said many times before it's a squad game.

We all have opinions, and as far as I know Rafa takes no notice of any of them. If I had seen the team before the match (I missed the first half) I would have been asking questions. Nothing wrong in that IMO. I just hope Rafa doesn't start thinking he can do that against other sides! Gamble that came off for me rather than good team selection, but as I said Rafa wont be too upset at what I think anyway. :D

does it matter at the end of the day ? We won 5 1 thats all that matter . We all support liverpool the team and its the team that matters not the individual player .

so its now called a gamble that paid off as opposed to getting his tactics and selections spot on and doing the job required . Must be bloody hard for him to get some credit for getting it right . Like he does most of the time . Didnt realise how many people have a lack of faith in our manager who presently is helping us to be on top of the table without the best striker in europe . I will say it if no one else will - well done today rafa you got it spot on and the result proves that from the minute that first whistle went . Maybe the manager does know what he is doing after all .

I think people need to calm down a bit on the brown trunks because of rotation carry on! :D

OK Id have prefered to start with the strongest available 11,but we played 2 days prior..so its normal to make a few changes.
I still feel we should have started Keane if he was'nt suffering a niggle but its done now and we won comfortably.
Just because we made 3 changes today it does'nt mean we are gonna start rotating wholesale again.
I can't believe we won 5-1 away from home and some "fans" are still moaning.
It could be worse,ya could support Chelsea!

I reall can't be ar$ed arguing with you. If you don't consider that team a gamble maybe you should try making some clever investments with Ladbrokes as well.

Did you not expect a couple of changes Saint?
I did considering the closeness of games,Keane rested was a shock.Apart from that I expected one or two at least to be swapped out of the eleven!

And don't mention Ladbrokes again please! :D

I did mate, just not the ones made (apart from Masch coming in), I certainly didn't expect Keane to be rested with Torres almost fit. After we played so well against Bolton I was surprised he changed the formation as well.

He probably watched the DVD from the Bolton game and rested the 3 players that ran the most or something like that! :D

Ah well it paid off whatever the reasoning behind it.Saying that i think our reserves would have beaten Newcastle today they were so poor all over the park.
Still ya cant knock 5-1 away from home against another prem club.
I just hope we get Nando back and play a settled 4-4-2 now with him and Keane up top unless forced to change it.

Direct comparisons are difficult when one of the two don't even turn up. :D
