if you score a goal like that, as long as you don't give away a penalty, it doesn't really matter if you just had an ok performance. he still had some nice flicks and the like, and it seemed like he drifted more inside and I think at one point he switched wings with Babel, didn't he earn the free kick that led to our firs goal?

he was more lively in the last game and against psv, he had nice touches - in particular, the one at the touchline where he hooked the ball back into play. great touch.

You're probably right that he needed that match in the bench, both as a rest, and as a message that this is not Espanyol and if you don't play well you go to the bench.

Joe my friend, that was the first range goal. The assists will come too :P

I think he can be a top player for us, he is capable of that sort of stuff by all accounts so lets see it. I agree with Sabes here, he just needs to really go for it and believe in himself and the sky's the limit. If ever there was a case of rotation/resting/dropping making absolute sense, then this was it.

Yet more grudging "great goal BUT......" praise for another of our players in here I see. All i can say is what a fu...c...k...ing GOAL at an important stage of the game  :bowdown

i felt he had a quiet game yesterday. the arsenal defense was very quick to close him down too.

left side is still a problem. Reira is getting stale quickly and Babel is even worse. At least when I see Insua's name on the teamsheet I get excited, but there are very few players that I can say that about. Kuyt, Babel, Bennayoun, etc.  when I see these names I can't help but think, "what the heck are they going to do (well). . ."  and then most of the time they coast or worse.

Our left wing is decent, even good with Riera and Aurelio-Insua, but the right wing...

Last season his game lowed a lot in the second round and for that he didn't go to the Eurocup, I hope that this year won't happen the same, it's a key player nowaadays

Definately a goosd player. But unfortunately only for 60 minutes, He's doing great but he'd be perfect if Babel started performing as a sub.
