Id give him a 7 for last nights performance which is pretty worrying against that standard of opposition. The guy will never make a decent player for us, he is a complete coward on the pitch. Too scared to go forward, take a risky pass or have a shot, he constantly plays it simple or backwards to keep possesion and is largely anonymous when he plays.

actually i was talking about his performances in general, and as for last night he was decent no more or less, but considering how awful PSV were and the amount of time and space he was given id of expected a lot more from him, i mean if it had been Gerrard or Alonso against that lot yesterday they would have murdered them.

they were unlucky that they were missing their best players with injury so didnt play to their full potential but doesnt mean people can take away the performance of lucas who fought hard as well as created .

created what exactly? it was a nice free kick for Babel's goal but i cant remember much else. He got stuck in, kept possesion and kept it neat and tidy but whats new, he always does that which is fine but that is only one part of a centre mids game, i would have like to have seen drive at the oppostion and test there defence with some creative passing and trying to get forward. He is far to content just sit on the half way line keeping it simple, that is not enough IMO.

do you not remember his little ball into keane for one of keanes chances ? or the amount of times he spread the ball towards either babel or riera or when he nearly scored getting on the end of a keane cross ? hard to do that from half way line .

fair enough but there were plenty of other times when he could done a lot more with the ball than he did, i remember in the second he got the ball about 40 yards out with about 20 yards of free space in front of him, there were 2 or three in the box and he just jogged with the ball up to area and then had his cross closed down, he didnt have a clue what to do and pratically sha.t himself when he saw how much time he had to decide what to do.

anyways last night he was decent but i like to see him be at least the same level against a decent team, but i cant see it happening he's been here for a while now and i havent seen to much improvement but we shall see

well if you say we'll have to agree to disagree, beacuse all i see is an average player. But ask your self this can you ever see him performing even like yesterday reguarly in the premiership?

yes i can given the chance - its his confidence that is the prob - i have seen him play like that in the prem last season - also remembering he is still young and got time to develop and learn as well . He isnt world class by any stretch nor is he :censored: - i put him alongside players like fletcher who will come in and do a decent job for us when required.

we have plenty of players that have class and have players that do a great job for us - a good mix at the moment - maybe need one more creative player but its nowhere near as bad as its been made out .

I think people expect too much these days and expect us to have a team full of world class players .

also remember players like lucas are 4th choice cm .

i dont expect all our players to be world class but we need more class than we have, we have far to many decent squad men and not enough quality first team talent. As for lucas being 4th choice, he cost £7m or £8m i think and i would expect a bit more than just a decent player for that much.
