To be honest, I thought his movement in the second half was top class. It's just not dropping for him infront of goal at the moment.

From an objective perspective, I do question whether he would have been so effective in dropping deep if Gerrard had been playing, as he was occupying the spaces that Gerrard would normally run into.

I can't see Owen coming back to play second fiddle to Torres, he will want to be the main man at any club he is at now.

Heskey would offer us a presence up front, a target man that we have been missing since Crouch left and would be more willing to be a bit part player.

You need something different to change the game sometimes, NGog is not going to change games yet on his own and we need that 3rd proven striker up there, Heskey would have made a difference in those premiership stalemates imo.

Crucially he has a point to prove here, is hungry to return and is a much more rounded player than when he was at Anfield - I would definetely sign him in January.

In what sense that bringing in warnock solve keane's issue?

Emile Heskey is not the answer.  Surely we need to sign better players than him.

Robbie Keane: I'm here to stay - Liverpool FC latest
Dec 10 2008 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

ROBBIE KEANE today insisted he will be going nowhere when the January transfer window opens.

The Irish striker returned to Rafa Benitez’s starting line-up for last night’s 3-1 win at PSV Eindhoven after being left out of the side against Blackburn at the weekend.

Having had a difficult start to his Liverpool career following his £20m dream move from Spurs in the summer, speculation has surfaced that Keane could be sold as early as next month.

But the 28-year-old has no plans to walk away and insists he will keep giving everything for the cause every time he is given the opportunity to pull on a red shirt.

“I’ve only been here a few months but there’s nothing I can do about speculation, that’s all part and parcel of being a footballer,” said Keane.

“If people want to create something that’s not there it’s up to them but there’s no question in my mind, I will be a Liverpool player for a long time.

“People can write what they want and they can say what they want. They can keep writing but I’ll be here past January.

“I’m no different to everyone else. I love playing football and I want to play every game.

“But if I am left out of things then it’s about bouncing back. I’m a strong character and I just get on with it.

“But the most important thing is to work hard and do well when I am in the team and hopefully that’s what I did last night.”

Keane has scored just four times since moving to Anfield but remains confident that the goals will come.

Last night he set up Liverpool’s third goal for David Ngog with a magnificent through ball and the Irishman believes he benefited from playing in a slightly withdrawn role just behind the French forward.

My enduring memory of Heskey is a defender bouncing himself off of Emile and landing on the ground, leaving Heskey with his arms in the air, while the ref awards a free / card. He has always struck as the most unlikely striker, for any team.

I couldn't stand him at the club a few years ago and I don't think that will change, if he was brought back. I'd much rather see Owen back instead, if that's the choice.

Is there actually anything you do like about LFC ?

Ask M.O. who his preferred partner for England and Liverpool was - you've guessed - Emile Heskey - simply because his unselfish and powerful play got Michael a shed load of goals! You probably think the seven England managers that selected Heskey were also wrong.

Hmmm....so not liking Emile Heskey equates to not liking LFC?   ???

And I'd say lack of choice had a big part to play in the England manager's choices TBH.

Tony - You can't have it both ways - lack of choice is rubbish - Heskey was Owen's first choice partner - if Heskey was a bad as a lot of people make out including you then a one legged, overweight, unfit, 70 year old could do the job!

And just take a look at most of your other posts if you can't understand why I asked if there was anything you like about LFC.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

The same Warnock that was turned inside out by Benayoun last weekend for our second goal?

Warnock is a player who can look good on his day but was never entirely convincing for us.  Fair enough holding onto him as a squad player when he was here but I would never go to the bother of buying him back now that he's gone.

Football aint no business and you are no football man - you are a disgrace to the club.

Bottom line - I honestly can't believe you come on to a Liverpool website and talk about spreadsheets, you understand nothing about the game or it's origins.

I'll be happy to trade on football matters tomorrow.
(Trying not to get agressive with keyboard muppets.)

Talk football matters, if you want to .... but --- if you haven't realised the part that money plays in the modern game, then it would be difficult having a debate with you.

However, you are bang out of order coming to this website and  questioning the loyalty of other fans. If anything, you my friend have lost all credibility.

We are struggling for cash, he is a worthwhile purchase for the moment.

Out of Order - Take your time son.

I might have gone OTT last night but football is a passionate game, Keane is going to come good - all this talk of him being an asset is all well and good, football people don't talk like that.

Keano will be well up before long and the businessmen of this world will be talking about what a pricelss commodity he is.

Carry on - the march onwards is all that matters and Keane will play a big part.
