Personally i would get rid of Dossena his marking would be poor in sunday league....an hes italian? i wanna c his passport

i would have Insua as back-up 2 Aurielo

I think next season we should get 2 quality full-backs

Anthony Vanden Borre 19 Fiorentina
Gareth Bale 18 Spurs
De Silvestri 19 Lazio
Phillip Lahm 25 B.Munich

another italian? other than Zola or di Matteo, italians dont seem to fare well here. i might be wrong though as i cant recall any other successes besides those 2 and Ravanelli.

Stefan Radu is Romanian, not Italian. Lately our best players are defenders (except Mutu, ofcourse), so he should be a good prospect, if only he will be as good as Chivu. I don't think he is Liverpool standard, however. Not at the moment, plus he would need time to adapt.

I have not seen him since he left for Lazio but apparently the press says he is doing a great job (this means nothing by the way, the press is sh8t as you all know)

I dont think we could afford Di Silvestri but hes going to be massive. For the left there is Angel Di Maria and there is the German kid George Boetang. He's only 18 but can play on the right and left. Doubt HSV would let him go though for less than 10Mil.

i will like to see stephen darby given a chance there. if even the captain of the reserve team is not good enu for a chance needless to say about the rest.

way i rate this lad very highly ive been going on about him for months now an i would love to see him given a few first team starts just so he can say to the others if you want the shirt back your gonna have to fight me for it . This lad will do us proud imo I said months ago he doesnt half remind me of Rob Jones the way he plays an thats a good thing in my opinion

wouldnt mind seeing Darby given a chance when arby is rested - it really does beg the question why we bought degen. - although having just said that, if arby was to get injured for any length of time, degen would be needed

Is Degen a better right back than Darby?
Is Dossena a better left back than Insua

I’m not saying Darby and Insua are the best players in the world, but surely they are better, or at least as good as Degen and Dossena?

It’s a bit harsh on Degen considering he hasn’t had a proper chance but it makes you wonder why we spend so much on transfer fees and wages when we already have players on the books that seem to be as good if not better than those we are buying.

Darby has looked solid every time i have seen him play. i think he should be given a chance at least as cover for arbeloa

Darby isn't sh.ite, but I don't see him becoming the right back for any uninjury reason unless he steps it up a couple of levels or we lower our standards a couple of levels. I'm still going to wait on Martin Kelly to get another couple of years older before we know which one of the two will have the better career.

Insua's progress seams to have slowed down and sometimes it even looks like he is getting worse, but he still might be better than Dossena. Don't know how Dossena plays for Italy or how Insua was the starting left back on the U20 World Cup winning Argie team when he was only an U18. We might have to hold out for the German lad Buchtmann before we produce a good enough left back and he is only 16!
