i'm with you on this. Kuba do reminds me of Hleb.  :nod

yup...he look s very interesting indeed...the team has always needed strong runners. Coles and Kuba would be much better than overpriced Barry

Barry's not worth 18m but Kuba ( reputedly ) around 12m although his owner seems to think closer to 20 is worth it? and you know this how? youtube. And do you lot not mean Cole or Kuba or are you actually so deluded you think the owners would pay for both?

wishful thinking mate  :D
its so clear we need width but apparently its not on Rafa's list

No, we're not deluded or anything. Well at least we can do is hoping for something good to happen. i don't see anything wrong by doing that. If u dont agree, then what can we say.... opinions are :censored:..everybody got one................ It's painful to see Man uniTurd and Cheatski getting stronger every season, getting the players they want  and dominating the league for the last 4-5 years.

After missing out on Valencia’s David Silva, Atlético Madrid are now turning their attention to Werder Bremen’s superstar playmaker, Diego Ribas da Cunha.

According to Spanish daily AS, Los Colchoneros have already tabled a €16 million bid for the flamboyant 23 year old, although Werder are expected to hold out for a figure close to €25 million. But the Spanish outfit are confident that a middle ground of €20 million can be reached if the Hanseatic club are willing to negotiate.

Coach Javier Aguirre has been busy searching for a true central playmaker since pre-season began and after his side struggled badly to break down a resilient Schalke defence in midweek in the Champions League qualifiers, his request has suddenly become top priority with the club hierarchy.

                -----------------------------------------

While he is not exactly the wide player we are looking for, Diego IS TOP CLASS and would be a great addition for £15/16million. He has played wide in the past and done quite well there (bit Joe Cole-ish) scores his fair share of goals too. Get in there Rafa!!!

What's up with these smaller clubs being so stubborn lately.  It's almost impossible to buy decent players from them, without paying ridiculous amounts of money.

Small clubs need to survive , so they will squeeze as much as they can for one of their star players to sign another one . It could be also that they do not want to sell thats why they slap ridiculous price tags on them

The lad would be a welcome addition, no doubt about that.

Liverpool Football Club have been linked with a move for Wilson Palacios

The Honduran international is proving to be a huge hit at Wigan Athletic, and Rafael Benitez is believed to be lining up a £6million offer for the player as he accepts defeat in the chase for Gareth Barry.

Palacios, 24 years old, was superb at the weekend despite the Latics going down at West Ham United, and Steve Bruce admits he could struggle to keep the midfielder.

“The window can’t close soon enough as far as I am concerned because, if he carries on playing like that, it won’t be long before a lot of clubs are after him,” said Bruce.

“He’s a top, top player and we could struggle to hold on to him.”

Strange comments by Bruce.

He's basically talking him up for a move there and if he genuinely wanted to keep Palacios he wouldn't have made those comments imo.

Straight swap for Pennant anyone?  We know Bruce rates Pennant from his Birmingham days.  I'll admit to not having seen much of this Palacios, but he can't be any worse than Pennant for right mid surely.  FFS if you can't displace Kuyt from right mid you know you're sh.it.

Towards the end of last season, a load of top flight clubs were linked with this guy Palacios and he had one foot out the door at Wigan. Then it all went quiet for a long time....Now it looks like the rumour mill is picking up speed again - anybody know why ?
