Sean i dont think the finger should be pointed at Michael. The person who really needs to answer the questions is Rick Parry!

He wont find any bitterness from me just disippointment that he could not bring himself to admit that all along he wanted out, this is not something he has been forced to do, he made his mind up long ago he just could,nt bring himself to admit it.He has not helped matters leaving it this long his timeing could not have been worse, with the new season less than a day away, this has distracted not only the team, but our preperations for our visit to spurs, its something we could have done without. ???

Parry's at fault for letting the contract negotiations go on so long.  He should have been alot stronger.  The softly softly approach did not work.  I reckon when Owen was stalling on his contract once it reached its final 18 months, Parry should have given him an ultimatum.  If Owen rejected the contract and was put up for sale, then we'd have bagged a hell of a lot more than £8 million.

Personally, I think Baros' form at euro 2004 probabaly frightened the life out of Owen and with the arrival of Cisse he didn't have the balls for a fight to keep his place.

Agree with you again but didnt the board learn anything from the McManaman situation. Yes Owen has strung us along but he should never have been given the chance to. Again just when i was begining to think the board have done good with the appointment of Benitez im angry again at them.

Mayby things will change on our board if there is any truth that steve morgan is poised to gain control of LFC? this may force parry/moores to re-think their positions, it might be the best thing that could happen to LFC? I think moores has had "his day" he is to secretive, and keeps us fans in the dark to much. ???

I think you are soooo mistaken Madred, you need to get your own head sorted!

Dont go blaming parry u moron, the offer for a new contract has been on the table for Owen for MONTHS!, just like for Stevie G! . Owen kept coming out with this cr*p on Tv last season "oh the contract talks are progressing nicely" etc etc.
If he'd have wanted to stay, hed have signed the deal and everything would have been sorted.

Basically it was down to him!
Owen is definately to blame, he would tell his agent whether he wanted to move or not, he called the shots.

The TRAITOR!

He obviously didnt want to be at Anfield...He let it drag for so long!

Owen had no intention of wearing the red shirt this season he didnt have the guts to admit it!! its all down to him in the end, as much as parry/moores tend to bury their heads in the sand at times there is only one guy who has the final say and thats the player. He has made his choice(finally) so he has to live with it but dont expect a raptuous reception if he ever returns in that white shirt!!. :(

Why dont you say what you think at the match then about Hillsborough? Im sure there will be many people willing to listen to your opinions on why 96 of our fans died? Then they will most probably break your face! I dare you go on bedsit boy?
