So here we are 36hrs b 4 the 1st match of a new season. Rafa been here 4   6 weeks and its all go. Stevie g stays and the rest are being weeded out 1 by 1. all the substandard ******
GH brought in and bored us to tears with over the last 2 years. so whats the verdict on RAFA b4 a ball is kicked in anger! Has he shown the qualities needed to be sucessful 4 us seems like he is used to dealing with prima donnas and wont tolerate anything other than what he sees as the way foreward!

i'm impressed with everything so far. 3 wins out of 4 and we're playing more attractive football. if owen leaves tho ill be majorly disappointed. itll be a sad day for lfc fans the day michael owen chooses a ''better club'' over us.
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

Maybe so. however ive watched owens style closley over last season and he has definitely lost that initial burst of power n pace to take him past and beyond the last defender and he in my oponion hasnt improved as a player as much as he maybe thinks he has dont get me wrong he has scored so many important goals 4 us and turned games our way but he restricts the options of style of play and i think RAFA has seen that early.
I said last may i thoght he would go and it may b best 4 both him and pool then it all went quiet and now 36hrs b4 our oppener it all breaks out. I hope for the sake of memories its sorted soon.

I know Benitez very well. I think is the better manager in the world!! You are very lucky because he can make a great job for LFC.

He usually keep a very good defence level, will be very difficult for other teams make goals. But it doesn't means that LFC will play bad, cause starting from the strong defence he build a offensive game that will be spectacular playing in Anfield. When Valencia played home was all the match attacking and it was very beautyfull.

Moreover, he do a great physical work. He makes it with a lot of rotation of players. All the liverpool players will usually have a chance. With this method he gets high motivation for all the players in the squad cause all of them feel important for the team, and everybody play so good!!

Yes.. well said.. rotation means no-one is guaranteed a place.. that way complacency is unlikely to set in beacsue everyones know they have to performs well to stay in.

Ralmah you are officially our Spannish correspondent! With the game truly international it is nice to get a foreign perspective and hear the news as it is coming out from Spain. Also, thanks for your additional answers to my questions re the potential new influx, much appreciated.

A week or two ago, many posts were complaining about no signings. There were even posts claiming that RB was God, even though he hadn't done a signing, visa vie  Chelski.

Where are we today.. before PL 04-05?

RB seems to favour  Spanish  players, ..OK But doesn't he watch other Euros.???   e.g.Look at LFC .WE ARE ALREADY EURO, ...not necessarily all Brit, and certainly not
Spanish...RB,.. please don't turn us into Real C team.
Are you myopic?Didn’t you get out much, when you were in Spain?
Houllier went all over Euro and had success(and some mistakes)

I really don't know how I'd feel if we won the CL and all the players were Euro Mercenaries... I think I'd pass on that. When Euros become locals like Henchoz, then I
can live with it. We have infected him with the LFC virus, but Baros is mercenary and now it seems is Owen   It is a terrible thing to say, but my second team in Euro CL, will be the team with the most locals.

RB spoke about club pride and how local players could educate newcomers. As Jamie C now seems part time, SG is your only LOCAL.... I think we certainly have to be concerned.. I want LFC , not fantasy football.

Henchoz bleeds red and that's what I want from a Euro.

Fair enough but which local talent can we recruit or buy at reasonable price? We don't have an Abramovic sitting on the board and signing cheques so RB will definately go for Spanish talent where he has watched over the years and is comfortable to have playing in his team.

Do we persevere with the likes of Murphy and Heskey just because they have a British passport? or do we go for exciting talents like Cisse and Xabi Alonso who (hopefully) will wear the red shirt with pride?

Two school of thoughts really but you know which I prefer.

Money isn't it.
If you and I knew the up and coming Hot local stuff , we’d be very $$$.But is anybody really looking or promoting the same? What is wrong with UK talent.
England has stunk for more  than 30 years.
LFC made us Euro beefcake in the 80’s..since then all of the UK have done what???
Now we have Baros the mercenary, who will go anywhere sometime .

Bottom line. if LFC win the CL with all mecenaries, I won't be there. Hell I could watch Chelski or NYY with the same enthusiasm.Go All Blacks or Sefton RUFC . If the only commonality about the team is the jersey, then  I’ll watch the reserves.

Santa's right. The best english commands a high fee. I am sure LFC will not go for such deals.
And how many good english players are there? How many can be groomed well? How many clubs to vie for them?
Why did we not get a englisg manager? Cos we gotton the best SPANISH manager.

We are not competitive in our very own league. Buying french or spanish doesn't matter. What matters is that they play for the club to win during their period of contract. Lets win some honours and cups. I believe the root of the club is still english.

Rafa is brought in to bring success to LFC. In this very competitive level of modern football, I am happy that he is with Liverpool. I just know we will do well. Rafa is the star buy this season for Liverpool. :)

we need to give some youngsters a chane like welsh who is highly rated partridge, warnock and potter there the most promising even if only one is english.man u team is built on british talent to foreign imports but i wouldn't give a ****** if diouf scored the winning in the champions league final as long as it come home where it belongs.
