Don't be jaded by the fact that Rafa has made CL semi final victories over Chelsea commonplace, they are still a REALLLLY good side with more quality man for man than we do. New wrinkle this year in that we are at home first, which I didn't think was going to have much affect against Inter but could prove to be more important against Chelsea.  I think because there has been soooo much consistency in Rafa's sides in the formation, midfield, and attack that we have slept on Rafa's tweaks to the defense in BIG games. How do you want us to line up at the back against Chelsea in the 1st leg? is it a forgone conclusion that we will play 4-2-3-1? Is that really the best way to approach Chelsea at home, IF you take away the fact that the players have become familiar in this system?

Our best option is to pair up stevie n torres, giving stevie a free rein to run at their defenders. Pennant shld be given a starting berth, becos we need to have someone running at their flanks, giving us more options. Babel shld go out left, cutting into the box with his pace. And it is critical for us to get an early goal in the first half period as Babel and pennant tends to wear out as the game goes on. I have my doubts whether we will win at chelski because I have a bad omen abt things to follow.

Chelski will use their flanks to run at us. I am betting my money on Kalou to be in the starting line up. And I am crossing my fingers that Riise will not be starting at the left back. Joe cole is another threat as with his skills. Drogba will be use as a holding man as well as their main striker. Even if he is not in the box, he can be dangerous. We have seen how drogba destroyed man utd with that cross into the box.

At anfield, we have done a wonderful job in neutralising Drogba, as chelski kept pumping those high balls to no use.

However it was their flanks that destroyed us, seeing how Kalou kept running all over the pitch with Riise chasing shadows. Eventually in the dying mins, it was a ball from the left flank, and we all know, who tried to head the ball when it would be better to have used his right foot to clear, all becos he wasn't confident to use it.

To sum things up, as long as we can control the midfield, control drogba, cut its flanks movement then we will stand a chance.

Apparently your concern is a strong defense. I'm more concerned with us negating the own goal. First we make sure that the away goal rule can't hurt us, which is done by scoring at least one goal. Then we play hard defense. 1-0 is all we need. I personally will settle for 1-1, though I do have confidence that we can take it if it resorts to extra time.

Personally I've avoided the media, wouldn't even let my BBC homepage open as I knew it would be splattering lumps of love cream all over the mancs and their fortunate win. A bad defensive error gifts them the only goal of the tie, lucky counts. I'm guessing if we win tonight the word luck will be somehow permanently associated with it

World peace is now in our hand. We have to win 2 wars to ensure it because we have to stop 2 horrible teams full of cheating bsatards and fcukers to win the champions league.

First war is "Battle of Stamford Bridge".

then the big one - "World War III" in Russia.

Will be watching in Phuket with a very sore knob. :D

The big question is, will we score?

Maybe 4 4 2 is the option with Crouch up front and Gerrard on the right?

I've had a sleep , got a tw@t of a hangover and i'm feeling abit more positive about tonights game , well not the game more what happens WHEN we beat chelsea and we have the mancs in the final.

We will beat chelsea tonight ,it's destiny you see , we have to play the mancs in the final and beat them to show them once and for all that we are THE MIGHTY LIVERPOOL FC and they will forever be in our shadow. Imagine beating Arsenal ,Chelsea and the mancs in one campaign 'it's the stuff of legend and we are the only team capable of doing it.

LETS WORRY ABOUT MOSCOW AFTER TONIGHT, LETS STUFF THE CHAVS ARROGANCE BACK DOWN THERE THROATS, LETS STAND TOGETHER AND SHOW THE WORLD THAT WE ARE THE MIGHTY LIVERPOOL FC AND IT'S OUR DESTINY TO WIN .

COME ONNNNNN FECKIN REDMENNNNNNN!!!!!!!

Rafa on the offy

"They know they can go out and make history," said Benitez. "They can join an elite group which has got to three Champions League finals and go to another level by getting there.

"They all know that. I can see in their eyes that they are winners, they have confidence.

"The majority of the players know what it means to get to a final. But for some of the players who were in Istanbul and Athens, it is even more important.

"The players know how important it is to be in a final, and how massive this game is. I don't need to say too much. They are really focused.

"Mentally, physically and technically, we are in a good moment. The players will be ready."

A Liverpool victory or a high scoring draw will see the Reds through to Moscow and a third final in four years, while a 1-1 draw after extra time tonight will mean the tie will be decided on penalties.

"The plan is easy. We need to score. After this, if we win, it will be better," added the manager. "If we draw, we know that Pepe is good on penalties.

"We need to play compact as a team, as a unit and try to attack all together and defend all together. It's not a special plan or idea, it's very simple.

"It will not be a fantastic achievement just to score there. But to win, yes, that will rank highly in my career and the players'.

"Everybody knows the history of the club and the last three years how important these games have been and the results. We have enough confidence and we don't need to talk too much now.

"They need to attack and we need to attack so in the end it could be an open game." Benitez concluded; "You know my idea, no?, let's tw@t these cunts!"
