Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ciggy » Tue Apr 29, 2008 11:30 pm

The topic seems fecked far to long, I think it should be locked and a new one started otherwise the Real World mark 2.

I am not even @rsed if we go out tomorrow to be honest, I even said to nanny last week on the phone, I just dont want it.

I know we can beat them but at what cost does it come?

A gang of mancs tried to run my child over last year on holiday because he had a Liverpool kit on, but no blame them pesky merdering scousers hey. :glare:
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

I dont think I'll be able to sneak home and watch the game...... :(

Gonna have to take my 77 Final shirt ot the office then....

Everyone will be sittin there wearing suits apart from one bright red footy shirt !

I dont think we have to be over worried going to Chelsea, Barca would have been a tougher prospect at the Nou Camp.

Good post GBJH, just like to echo that if I can. If we get through, we wont be given a chance. Fact. Ronaldo we will be getting told every day is the best player on the planet, Vidic is the best buy for 20 years, how good Nani and Anderson are going to be, how much they deserve to win it etc. THAT SUITS US. Underdogs, weve heard it before and we will hear it again, we will be underdogs. The fact is, they wont want to play us. Watchin both legs, they was there for the taking imo. Dominated by Barca for 80 % of the 2 legs. Plus they will be fighting for the league till the last game of the season, which gives them about 10 days to recover. If we get there , theoretically we will have 3 weeks, as Rafa will rest alot of players in the remaining games. If your a Liverpool fan, and your afraid to play anyone, no matter who they are, then your not a fan at all. Dont be scared. Lets beat them rent boys tomorrow, and march on to Moscow, with hope in our hearts, knowing deep inside, we will come out on top.

1977 fa cup final Liverpool against Man United...we lost
1983 league cup final Liverpool against Man United...we won
1996 fa cup final Liverpool against Man United...we lost
2001 league cup final Liverpool against Man United...we won

This is the fifth final we'll of played against united...how many european cups have we won already? 5...OMEN. (i'm starting them early)
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Tomorrows our night, we're going through i'm sure, it feels like 2005 again, tough questions have been asked throughout the campaign, and when its mattered we've come out on top. To everyone worrying about the mancs, and i was too, can you think of a better way to win the CL than by beating them?

I don't purport to speak for every Liverpool fan , just myself ..............and I've got to admit that the prospect of facing the Mancs in Moscow fills me with trepidation. Anyone who travels to away games like myself will tell you that there are TWO away games where we have to watch our backs. Everton is one of them but by far the most dangerous for any Liverpool fan is the United game.

I think UEFA will do everything in their power to make sure that it doesn't happen and expect absolutely nothing from the ref tomorrow night for a start   ???

Playing them in a one off Cup Final holds no fears for me but the fixture itself from a fans point of view is going to be fraught with danger. Even for those who don't travel but choose to watch in a neutral venue in a pub somewhere will have to be on their guard.

Getting past Chelsea is going to be a huge obstacle so it's by no means a given that we are going to Moscow. Should we not get there it just might be a blessing in disguise.

I wonder how Carragher and Gerrard are feeling tonight knowing that the Mancs await in the final ? I'm sure after watching both legs against Barcelona the belief that we can go on and beat them in the final will be high. Whatever happened to all that free flowing football the Mancs are supposed to be playing ? It wasn't in evidence in either leg.

Ronaldo ................ Player of the Year my a*** . What a :censored: !

In history, no english side has done better than Liverpool Football Club (domestically or european) We're the greatest side in world football, so for fucks sake stop whinging and shitting yourself over the prospect of Man United. Let them worry about us. But before you even think about united, lets get chelsea over and done with shall we. Lets go and steamroll them. Lets embarrass those southern cunts in their own backyard. Lets shut all those fuckers up who thought we were here just to make the numbers up again. Lets prove that 2005 and 2007 weren't coincidances, lets prove that we are as good as we say we are. We are the greatest side in world football. Once we put flash twats out tomorrow and Terry is crying himself to sleep we can go and take on United. We can let sky, granada, radio stations and every newspaper make out that united have already won the cup because we know different. We're supporters of Liverpool Football Club and we know what it takes to win. And after we beat United in the final and let me tell you there's no sweeter feeling in the world than beating those mancunian cunts, when we do we'd of beaten every good side europe has to offer. Leverkusen, Juve, Chelsea, Milan, Barca, Inter, Arsenal, Porto and then United and next year we'll still be told that we'd be lucky to make it out the group stage. Well let those twats in the press say what they like, we know different. We know we're on our way to winning number six.

So anybody nervous about tomorrow or nervous about United, just remember what team is in your heart and remember all the glory nights that this club has given me, you and every other Liverpool fan. We're the greatest side, with the greatest fans and once again we're going to show the world that. Neither of those clubs have a patch on us. We could walk away with the league if we wanted to, but once you've won it eighteen times you feel it's time to give someone else a go. 18 years without one and still nobody has overtook us in number of wins, it shows just how shit they are and how fucking brilliant we are. So stop being nervous and stop worrying over them. Because I guarentee they are petrified of Liverpool Football Club and so they fucking should be.

COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Print this out and stick it in their dressing room against the Chelski Scum and Manc Scum.

That's how good it is.

JoeTerp wrote:lets move the focus onto the TEAM and the MATCHES that we have coming up. Come on lads, this IS actually a BIG GAME. Don't be jaded by the fact that Rafa has made CL semi final victories over Chelsea commonplace, they are still a REALLLLY good side with more quality man for man than we do. New wrinkle this year in that we are at home first, which I didn't think was going to have much affect against Inter but could prove to be more important against Chelsea.  I think because there has been soooo much consistency in Rafa's sides in the formation, midfield, and attack that we have slept on Rafa's tweaks to the defense in BIG games. How do you want us to line up at the back against Chelsea in the 1st leg? is it a forgone conclusion that we will play 4-2-3-1? Is that really the best way to approach Chelsea at home, IF you take away the fact that the players have become familiar in this system?

Our best option is to pair up stevie n torres, giving stevie a free rein to run at their defenders. Pennant shld be given a starting berth, becos we need to have someone running at their flanks, giving us more options. Babel shld go out left, cutting into the box with his pace. And it is critical for us to get an early goal in the first half period as Babel and pennant tends to wear out as the game goes on. I have my doubts whether we will win at chelski because I have a bad omen abt things to follow.

Chelski will use their flanks to run at us. I am betting my money on Kalou to be in the starting line up. And I am crossing my fingers that Riise will not be starting at the left back. Joe cole is another threat as with his skills. Drogba will be use as a holding man as well as their main striker. Even if he is not in the box, he can be dangerous. We have seen how drogba destroyed man utd with that cross into the box.

At anfield, we have done a wonderful job in neutralising Drogba, as chelski kept pumping those high balls to no use.

However it was their flanks that destroyed us, seeing how Kalou kept running all over the pitch with Riise chasing shadows. Eventually in the dying mins, it was a ball from the left flank, and we all know, who tried to head the ball when it would be better to have used his right foot to clear, all becos he wasn't confident to use it.

To sum things up, as long as we can control the midfield, control drogba, cut its flanks movement then we will stand a chance.
