yeh , IMO Etoo is similar to Cisse, relies on pace and skill, I honestly think we need someone like Morientes who is strong in the air can hold the ball up well and finsih as well as anyone.

Hi Scott, We sit here night after night or day after Day in your case with the time diff discussing the merits of buying this player and that player when in reality the Real Madrid Saga could be a total non story ???

We have a Saying in England that goes like this ...."Football, A game played bewteen 2 teams of 11 players and 40,000 referees and Managers"

My point is both players mentioned in this thread could be unavailable (and I suspect as much ) and all because in my opinion there has been a shift at Liverpool in respects of how they treat and look at Michael Owen.

Anyone associated with LFC under Houllier could see the guy was frightened to death of losing MO and if i have a criticism of GH it's that he allowed Michael's contract talks to meander along unresolved.

The difference now is that Benitez is not prepared to do the same and wants a speedy resiolution for the benefit of the CLUB , not the benefit of Michael Owen.

I am disappointed that Michael cannot see what Stevie G has seen happening at Liverpool over the summer and react as positively as our cpatain has, both in terms of performnaces on the pitch and his demeanour off it......???

Walk On ......

yeh i agree, I think the Real deal is just a lot of speculation Morientes is now cup tied, as he played for Real's CL qualifier last night scoring both goalsi n a 2-0 away win.

Why would we sign a player who can't play in th CL?, we wouldn't.

It has been my opinion that Owen will saty if we assure CL qualification, which we pretty much have, We are a club on they way forward and if Owen doesn't want ot be a party of it that is up to him, but all the slience is annoying, i he doesn't want to play for us nymorre, he should come out and state it , and then we can get the best deal for the club.

Whatever happens I believe Michael has lost some of the respect that the fans have for him with his conduct over the last 12 months.

guti, nah he's not bad but not what we need.
Portillo has a lot of class, but Real will want to keep him for the future.

i just don't want to see Owen going anywhere..if he stays he can finally reach 30 goal per season mark given Cisse his partner(who can hold, create space and assist)

real want eto,o to join liverpool they have even halted his move to barca, but i would rather have morientes but is that a kick in the fu##### teeth playing him in the cl, the bottom line is benitez did not want owen in the new order at liverpool the reason he is just to hard to team up with.

wrong, Owen didn't play as he could have been cup tied, and in the event of him being sold, this would have reduced the price of Owen, so Beni was acting in the interest of the club.
