im just happy mashers signed for us

I just don't understand what is so hard to understand.

Haven't you been following tha last couple of months?

You say:

"but where ever they got the money, they got it, thats all im saying."

They never got the money and never will. Masch has been paid for with loaned money from banks with added interest that they will come and collect in the future.

We could get Eto'o tomorrow and still wouldn't mean a damn thing more than that we're one step closer to Leeds.

The club hasn't spend a penny since the yanks came and Babel, Torres, Masch etc hasn't been paid for yet.
Just lumped into a big debt that the club will service.
No invesment, no spending, just loans.

The sooner some starts to understand that the better!

I understand it mate, sigh.

Normally not me neither, but when it concerns the club I love
I do get involved.

I'm as happy as the next supporter that Masch has signed
as I am sure Leeds fans was happy when Ferdinand signed.

But I don't want us to pay for players when there obviously isn't any money and we just have to take another loan and another and so on.

Because that will jeopardize the future of LFC.
We will have at least £30 million just in interest to pay each year and the money has to be paid.

We normally just break even when it comes to finances the last couple of years and have a net spend of around £15m.

Something gotta give and I'm afraid what the future might hold. In 17 months time the deal has to be renewed and renegotiated again and I don't look forward to it.

I want us to be able to spend big in the transfer market, but when the money to really invest isn't there were are just living on borrowed time.

Do we own him outright or does that partnership still technically own him and we´ve just bought the playing rights?

Is he still a slave like Kunta Kinté ?

No I think thats it we own him outright now. Great news anyway. But it looked like we stuggled tooth and nail to fork out the money for him. We are still some way of a title winning side so more players of his price range will be needed. I just hope we dont encounter similar struggles for cash when those times come around.

Our defence has got Aggar, Carragher and the promising Skrtel...

Our midfield is awesome. Alonso, Gerrard, Masch, Lucas, Babel...

Up front we've got Fernando.

With a few additional players and sale of the dead weight, we've the makings of a great team here.

Mascherano completes £18m transfer to Liverpool

Andy Hunter
Saturday March 1, 2008

Javier Mascherano finally completed his transfer to Liverpool last night and the Anfield club hope to follow that prized signature by agreeing a new contract with Peter Crouch.

Mascherano has signed a four-year deal with Liverpool to end a saga complicated by third-party ownership issues and the uncertainty over Tom Hicks' and George Gillett's control of the club. The 23-year-old has cost £18.6m, a sum comprising the £1.6m required to take the midfielder on an 18-month loan and the £17m asking price demanded by Kia Joorabchian, the businessman who owned the economic rights to the player

Mascherano had expected to complete the move by November and the delay raised a genuine threat that Barcelona, among others, would sign him at the end of his loan this summer. Last night, however, a player who swiftly became a mainstay of Rafael Benítez's team heralded the transfer as "the best moment in my career".

The midfielder added: "I am at a top side and I know I can win titles here. That's the big thing for me. I want to be at a club where we can win trophies and have success."

Benítez and the chief executive, Rick Parry, who brokered the deal with Joorabchian, were keen to portray it as evidence that doubts over the future ownership of Liverpool have not hindered the running of the club. "Everyone knows Javier can be a key player for us. He gives us balance in midfield and can give Steven Gerrard more freedom," said Benítez.

"The club is more stable than people believe. We have completed the deal and for a big fee. The money is there for that deal and we are going in the right direction, by signing the players we need."

Parry added: "It demonstrates in very large measure the ongoing commitment of the owners, who once again have come good when funds have been needed."

Benítez also revealed that a new contract for Crouch is on the agenda, despite the 27-year-old's frustration with a lack of playing time this season and arguably because he can soon invoke Article 17 of Fifa's regulations on the status and transfer of players. That effectively entitles players to buy out their contracts if they have fulfilled three years of a four- or five-year contract and are under the age of 28.

Players over 28 can buy out their contracts after two years following the former Hearts defender Andy Webster's successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. "We have been talking about a new contract with Crouch and the player has told me that he wants to stay," said Benítez. "The agent was talking to Rick Parry and said that the player wanted to talk."

ABOUT Fecking time eh
