Owen last night

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

He looked so lonely on the bench, I didn't see anyone talk to him all game, infact he looked almost upset with glazed eyes, maybe thats because he will never play in the team again  ???

I personally think it's the right decission to leave but I will be sad to see him go.  :(

I will be gutted if he goes but if you notice on his last goal he scored against roma in the world series he wasnt a bit pleased shrugged his team mates off looked like hed just missed a pen never mind scored :(  I do still love him tho and he gave us many great times but well bounce back we did before and yes he had a forhead full of wrinkles last night with worry looked about 74 not 24 :D

Yeah, he looked like a stranger sat there on his own . I wonder if like Stevie he's having second thoughts about leaving, he certainly looked unhappy and a bit lost.
Either way he should make his decision asap so everybody knows exactly were they stand and can plan accordingly. :)

He's been a good servent to the club but it's time to take the money, shead a tear and say our good bye's.

He'll be missed but LFC will carry on. Players leave, that's the nature of football.

Read in the Mail today that Rafa has broken the 'canteen cliques' they reckon Murphy, Owen, Gerrard & Carra always sat together in the training ground canteen. Murphy's gone and looks like Owen is on way out ???  ???

I also see that the w*nker Lawton in the Mail is trying to stir up the hate stuff again. He really is a t*sser he tried it with Gerrard and now with Owen. I am really thinking opf ditching this paper until he leaves

Good post. I noticed the same thing and felt for the kid.

He's obviously being badly advised. He's 24 and has plenty of time ahead of him for a big move.

If he had a decent adviser, they'd tell him play another 3 years with Liverpool and leave for RM as his last big paycheque.

As things stand now, he will go to Madrid, disappear like McManaman did and like Beckham is doing, and be washed up at 26yo.

I reckon the friggn nunce Beckham has been on the phone to him telling him to jump. Friggn pop star loser.

might have beena  good experience for him last night though......could well have shown him what he will be leaving behind. Judging by the looks of him, he isn't ready to go yet

Not so much what he will be leaving behind but rather what he has to look forward to.
From being Liverpools 1st choice striker he becomes Madrids 3rd or 4th ,behind Raul,Ronaldo and possibly Morientes (no guarantee Morientes is coming to us).

He must consider that sitting on the bench could be a big part of his career at Madrid but at least he'll have Beckham to talk to  :D

Don't start having ago thinking that I'm an Owen hating fool, but why would Madrid want to lay out a shed load of cash on him???

My thoughts entirely...have a sneaky suspicion the actual interested party is Barcelona and thats why Owen is stuttering, because at Barca he will be very lonely. At least at Madrid he would have the cat-walk king to talk to.
