Latest transfer rumor

Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Premier League rivals Newcastle and Aston Villa have been linked with the Norwegian international in recent weeks.
Riise's future at Anfield has been the subject of intense speculation as he has failed to hold down a regular place in Rafa Benitez's starting XI this season.
However, Riise's representative Jan Kvalheim says although clubs may be interested in the full-back, the player is going nowhere.

"There are probably a lot of teams thinking about making a bid but nothing will happen," Kvalheim told Nettavisen.
"He has got one-and-a-half years left on his contract.
"It hasn't been an issue or important that he is sold in the transfer window - it is only journalists in England and Norway that are speculating."

I know Riise hasn't been flavour of the month for some time now, but I really think it would be a mistake to sell him. He is versatile, hardworking, rarely injured and always gives 100%. Maybe his passing, right foot and shooting accuracy could all be better, but he has also been an integral part of one of the strongest defences in the league for a good number of years now.

I think his loyalty should be rewarded and he should be offered a new contract ASAP.

So we should show loyalty to and keep a player who has been sh*te for 2 years, purely on the back of his time here before that, but we can't do the same for the boss?

Ok then.

I was thinking more on the lines of because:-
he's versatile, hardworking, rarely injured and always gives 100%

and
he has also been an integral part of one of the strongest defences in the league for a good number of years now.

Whereas Rafa misses games at the drop of a hat, had nothing to do with said strongest defence, and never gives more than 25% effort.

The bloke bossed a relatively meaningless game the day his Dad died, ffs.

But hey - no loyalty to that man.

There is still time for us to hi-jack the Defoe to Portsmouth transfer, offer him a starting place every week with Torres and that should do it :;):

Litmanem to Fulham is one I didn't see coming, and Benjami to Man City is another one that suprised me ???

I heard the rumour that Sami was seen in Glasgow :D and some fool just rang up to say he saw Eto at the JJB

Defoe is due to arrive at Portsmouth any minute. We could get Baros to give Defoe a lift from Portsmouth to Liverpool he would easily make in time to pass a medical

"My mate is hanging round Anfield now and he just texted me claiming he has just seen Ricardo Quaresma get out of a taxi and get ushered into Anfield! He's not likely to make this up so massive coup for Liverpool if they pull it off."
