Great win despite not really hitting top gear, which is a good sign for us again. Lucas, I thought, done a fantastic job filling Xabi's role in a holding job and he looked the part too. Done all the ugly work really well. He's looking a quality buy. Gerrard was fantastic due to this. MOTM is all that needs to be said for him. Alan Smith MOTM from the stadium announcer? Was that just to cheer those miserable Geordie tw@ts up, who let's be honest, were a disgrace? Babel is showing why we bought him now. I think the boy is class. He'll turn out to be a real cracker for us. Torres - he was really unlucky. Played as good as any, and had he even scored one, he was my MOTM. I hope the misses don't dent his confidence, but he was class. Should have scored 5.

On the negatives, I'd say there were two. I'm not really into the trend of slating our own players, but I think the writing has been clearly on the wall now for two of our most prized scapegoats these days. You don't have to guess that Sissoko and Kuyt are the two usual suspects....again. I thought they were just shocking. Sissoko needs to be taught the basics of just how to pass the ball 4 f*cking feet in front of him! Is that too much to ask?! He frustrated the f*ck out of me. Kuyt was just as bad. I forgot he even scored, and from the first 15 minutes, his body language suggested that he didn't even look bothered. These two are starting to be a liability to the team. Replace with better quality ASAP imo.

Did you watch the game? Momo was cat but Kuyt was involved in everything Liverpool produced today:

A) He laid it on for Torres, who got fouled, of which free kick we scored from.

B) He put through Torres when Shiven came out to block - and then won the ball back to give to Torres again. But he hit the post.

C) Then he scored.

D) He won the ball back to give it to Babel, who gave it to Gerrard, who gave it to Babel, who scored.

E)F) the other chances Torres had, bar one, was set up by Kuyt.

Watch the game, lad, don't concentrate on your prejudices.

Yup gotta say Kuyt had a good game today, and even dare I say it once we were 3-0 up even Momo looked as if he got some confidence (except the time he just hoofed it as hard as he could straight up into the air unchallenged lol)

I just dont get it with Sissoko, Is it just that he has no confidence as of late, Is it because he got the eye injury and has lost a bit of bite (or maybe sight by his passing :( )

When he first started for us I expected he would become world class, hes just fallen off now :(

Loved the game, Newky was :censored: though

And also THE REASON ALAN SMITH GOT MAN OF THE MATCH is because he has 2 of the 3 newcastle shots, how dare you all take that away from him, did you see his face when Riise came on? there was so much fear, he even shouted to the bench "You can be buggered if you think I'm charging another one of his shots down" :D

My take on the game. A very encouraging performance. Most important for me was to see us press the ball, all ten outfield players working hard as they were earlier in the season. We are an excellent team when we get after the opposition when they are in possession. I thought EVERY player did well today, no complaints about any of them.

Reina was solid as always and his distribution and speed of thought was first class once again, he's comfortably the best keeper in the league this season for me. Sami and Carra were solid again and Finnan had a good game today which will have done him some good. I lost track of how many clean tackles Sissoko made today and Lucas looks like an EXCELLENT prospect. I've been VERY impressed with him, he makes the game look simple, always seems to have time on the ball, makes the right decisions and has a bit of snap and bite in his tackles. Do we really need Mascherano with this lad coming through? Just thought i'd throw that one out there! Great to see Kewell get 60 mins under his belt and it's no coincidence that we keep the ball better with him in the side. Babel looked good when he came on, he's playing with confidence now, making better decisions, giving the ball away less and running at people. He looks a much better player playing right-side. It was the usual blood and thunder effort from Kuyt and he got that little bit of luck he needed with the goal, here's hoping he can grab a couple more and push on from here. Torres was awesome, what a handful he is. Imagine having to mark the bugger!!! He makes a MASSIVE difference to the whole shape and dynamic of the team. and finally the captain, what a performance, stuck it to those stupid clueless fu.c...k....ing chimps who booed him all game. Don't know where Newcastle fans get their rep for being great fans? They ALWAYS turn on their team at the first sign of trouble, no different to the orcs that turned up to Wembley on Wednesday night.

You can just tell what Torres is going to be like, he will have one game were he bangs a hatrick in and then the next game he will miss about ten sitters, and i know it has been said by some spanish people on this site before and he is certainly been proved so far.

But while Torres misses these sitters he creates space for other players to get into good positions because the opposite team are so concerned about him.He is just class and a breath of fresh air and is going to be a legend for us.

As for Ryan Babel i remember saying what a good player he was earlier on in this season and a few people i won't mention on this site riduculed me for saying this and i told them to give him a chance and obviously they knew better didn't they.

Very good performance today. Totally dominated the game. Newcastle may as well have not shown up. I'd like to thank the Geordies for inspiring Stevie G today. Torres should have scored about 39 goals this afternoon. LOL. Hopefully Fat Sam will learn some humility and keep his mouth shut in future.

Good result.

To be honest the BBC wont show hardly any coverage of live sky or setanta games from the days action and since liverpool are more often than not televised with those channels thats the reason for this,,

and as for the early kick offs, especially after internationals and away from home for me there is defo sometihng in it :no
