CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE DRAW - No teams would want us in their group

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Happy with that draw, nice and easy just like i thought it would be. Not worried about any of them, should even get the chance to give the fringe players a crack at a few of them. Every one of them teams will be saying "F.uck we got Liverpool" they wont be worried about any of the other teams just us, there is no team in that group I wanted to avoid.

Three AC Milan players in the best players awards, how many of our players won those awards when we won the Champions League ? crooked tw@ts !!

I'm quite pleased with that draw. Even concentrating on the premiership this season with this group I can see us progressing without losing any concentration on the league.
Should Porto keep hold of Quaresma I think as long as we can keep him quiet then we should have no trouble there.
It'll be interesting to see Cisse and Zenden back at Anfield but as for for Marseille I don't think they'll pose too much of a threat to us.

Could we be showing the Russians how to make a square properly Red come May?? ?? ??

Confident that we will get out of this group. It wont be easy but i cannot see any team to fear and dont expect us to drop too many points.

i thought the draw was ok for us

but the player of the year bollacks was just sh!te, cech, maldini, sedorf, kaka   behave!

even maldini said he had a dodgy year last year,

back to the draw , glad not to be going to the Ukraine, wouldn't of minded celtic or rangers just for the atmosphere

the next draw is the big one when we see which groups meet which, and if we finish top of our group who we face

arsenal last night made hard work and looked poor for a team that won 5-0 an agg, i wouldn't want my last fiver on them to progress

Cisse's coming to play against us isn't he? that should be fun

Overall I'm happy with the draw, it could have been a lot worse!

The Scottish teams are in for a difficult time

Rafael Benitez has warned his Liverpool side face a tough task to qualify for the knock-out stages of the Champions League following today's draw in Monaco.
The Reds have been placed in Group A of the competition along with Porto, Marseille and Besiktas as they look to enjoy another successful European adventure this term.

"It's clear when you look at some of the other groups that ours could have been easier," said the Reds' boss.

"Porto have good experience in the Champions League and have enjoyed a good record over recent seasons. They will be tough opposition for us.

"Marseille are a good side in the French league and they will know a lot about us which could make it more difficult.

"And you always know when you go to Turkey that it will be hard because of the travelling involved and the wonderful support they give their teams over there.

"I am always confident we can qualify but as ever the key will be winning the home games and picking up results away."

Great draw for Liverpool. As a portuguese fan of LFC i'm looking forward to see LFC play at Dragao and chant for them as I'm not a supporter from Porto :D

Here we fecking go, again.  What is it with Turkish fans and the "intimidation" tactics?  Look, lad, flares and toilet paper aren't scary.  At all.  We're the biggest club in world football so you can't rattle us.  Don't even try.  Just sit back and enjoy the footballing lesson we'll be giving you in the near future.  Tara... :p
