To be honest, that goalkeeper barely got his feet of the ground - looked like a grand-daddy there.

Any keeper in the premiership would jump high enough to stop it / deflect that shot.

Looks good as it went in, but wouldn't go in if it were the premiership.

Good luck to him. Look how Scott Carson transformed his talents when he was loaned out to Charlton. Despite their relegation, he shone and was their player of the season. Guthrie did look good for Southampton (though i only saw him a couple of times) and if he gets a run in the Bolton team, and if he has the right attitude (which i think he does) he can grab a priceless opertunity and make something of himself. If he does it at the Reebok, he might just get a place in Rafa's long term plans.

Brilliant move, Danny has always been a favourite of mine to make it to the first team, along with Hammil and Anderson with Guhtrie looking most likely, a move to a team who has made it to europe and considered a high mid table club may limit his chances, but the experience will be great for the lad.

Will be interesting to see how Bolton get on with Sammy Lee in charge now. Good to see Guthrie get a shot at another Prem side, just hope he gets near the first 11 now.

Just hope he doesn't go the way of Stephen Wright, who doesn't seem able to get a game under Roy Keane at Sunderland these days.

Wish it was more of a lower-mid to lower table team like boro, city, fulham, west ham that were getting him so that he would play more games, I still think its a good move, but if hardly gets a run out then he might as well be getting his training at Melwood and continuing to develop chemistry with all of our 18-21 year old talent that we have at the club.

I've not seen much of him play apart from the few sub appearances in the 1st team. Where exactly is his best position? I've read that he's a defensive midfielder and a left midfielder/winger. Anyone seen enough of him to comment on his chances of making it in our 1st team?

i think going to bolton will help him big time!
if he can"t learn from one of the best midfielders
this club has ever had, then he won"t improve as
a player anywhere, sammy will teach & motivate
danny into an even better alround player.
he will be educated into how sammy made the game look
easy,with grit-determination -& how to be aware
of what is going on around you to open up the play
just like he did in his hey day!
good luck danny you will only get better under sammy"s
guidence,good news for all concerned!

Good player, will certainly get better.

One for our future. Maybe next season, or the season after.

Scored a cracker against Celtic too.

I really hope Rafa give hamill a chance this year, he's such an exciting prospect.

Given the fact are wings are pish at the mo, and he can play on either it only a good thing.

Out of all our young players this boy is the one who will become class.
