SEVILLA -3- BETIS -2-

Sevilla maintained their perfect start to the Spanish season with a hard fought 3-2 win in the Seville derby against Real Betis.

The European Super and Uefa Cup holders took the lead at The Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, as Fredi Kanoute converted after 28 minutes.

However, Betis struck back in style through summer signing Rafael Sobis, as he fired in a double either side of the interval to give the visitors the lead.

Real were ahead for just a matter of minutes though, as Kanoute bagged his second to level.

Sevilla captured victory with just five minutes remaining, as Renato pounced to seal the three points which moves them back to the top of the table.

Barcelona kept up the pressure on Sevilla, as they too maintain their 100 percent record with a comfortable 3-0 success at still winless Racing Santander.

Morientes is back to the form that made me predicting he'd be a success here *sigh*

He already has  6 goals this season, the same amount of goals he had last year in December. :veryangry

Sinama Pongolle didn't have a sweet debut, as a player stumped his foot and he had quite a deep wound that had to be treated with 3 stitches, it doesn't seem to be a serious injury, though.

Don't know if Sabre can shed any light on this rumour but on Sunday after i'd finished watching the spanish footie on Sky i flicked over to catch the end of the cr@ppy italian footie and they started waffling on about a rumour going around europe that Ronaldinho Image and Ricardo Oliviera Image are related even though they claim they aren't.  I was just wondering 'cos when you do look closely there is a bit of a resemblance. Sounds like somebody was poking the wrong fire  :p  if you get my drift  :eyebrow .

Anyway I've gotta say that Barca are looking pretty damn strong again this season and are looking like it's gonna take something special to stop them getting their 3rd successive La Liga Title and possibly another European Cup; depending on how seriously the RED men take it this year  :p .

Yeah they have nearly won half as many European Cups as us. Talk about world dominance!  :p  :D

I knew morientes would be class for them, he's in his element and he's showing what a truly class player he is, just a pitty he couldnt do it in the prem and for LFC. Am happy for the fella coz he always tried his best but it just didnt work out in england, that extra touch he wanted doesnt happen in the prem , am glad hes getting his reputation back coz he is a very special player and a friggen bargain for valencia at what? 3mil roughly.

Well guys, you don't have a clue about what's suffering. Being in the fúcking bottom, and watching what I saw yesterday in Anoeta is a nightmare.

I still think there are worse teams than RS, but we'll have to sort out many things, we have a better squad than yesteryear, we just need to use the proper pieces, not playing players out of position and our CB knowing some basic concepts.

But I write due to Sinama Pongolle. I knew he'd make havoc. He had 15 minutes and scored in min 93, great play, full of pace, decission, and good finishing (our CB helped but, good goal). I'd be happy for the lad if it wasn't because he depressed me :)

Sabre, does Sociedad's performance seem hopeless for avoiding relegation?..Deportivo scored two goals in the last 10 minutes tonight and i wonder if its becasue of your bad-concentration or condition or what?

Nando's goal today was great.  Excellent movement.  He never made them quick dashing runs for us.  Was always on his heels.  Valencia looking ever strong!!!

Was glad to see Saviola score.  Eto getting injured has forced Rijkaard to use Saviola.  He has so much ability just needs to get settled.

Pongelle scored today as well.

Yeah he had a great chance to win the game when he came on.  You can tell already that the kid looks special.  Seems quite strong as well considering his not very big.

I like the look of Athletico this year.

I think Robinho will leave Real.  His never plays and even though he has tons of ability, he needs to be playing to improve on a decent 1st season in Spain.

Why Capello feels the need to play Diarra and Emerson I dont know?  You dont need 2 holding mdfield players.  Diarra is a terrific player and Emerson isnt needed.

I watched the Madrid derby, and I can say that It was a fantastic match with alot of attacking football and a red card ofcourse :D

I was impressed with Pablo Ibanez, one of our former targets. He is very good in the air (a defender we need right now) and solid.

was the number 10 dude in Ath. Madrid was sergio Aguero? the 17 year old argentinian? the arabic commentator wouldn't say his name (because he doesn't know sh*t!), well I wasn't impressed with him either, very soft and he did waste chances, should have buried real madrid at the end of the 2nd half.

must be that number 10! I didn't think he was sensational, I thought he did show some nice movment and speed, but he was outmuscled most of the time (yeh I know he is only 17) and he needs improve more in his physical skills

I tipped Valencia for the title before the season started and have seen nothing to suggest otherwise.
Barcelona are obviously sensational but Valencia with a front four of Vicente Morientes Villa and Joaquin will win it imo.
I think Edu will be fantastic this season as well, quality player that lad.

Yeah that young boys name is Aguero, he seems to have lots of talent. But he missed a big chance to score when he came one-to-one with Casillas. And his physic-of course- must be improved.

Defenders such as Ibanez or Parea are among the bests for their positions in Spain.

BTW Atletico could win the game this time, they cant do that for years in the rivalry.

sabre, what's being made in the spanish press about chelsea's two first choice goalkeepers being out? they must be confident of a barcelona victory? apparently ronaldinho and messi were on fire against sevilla at the weekend.

personally i just can't see barcelona getting beat at the bridge. it's almost inevitable that gudjohnsen will score aswell.
