Wiki:

Media Sports Investment is the international fund of investors that runs Brazilian football (soccer) club Sport Club Corinthians Paulista.

Corinthians signed a controversial deal with MSI in 2004 that grants the company a large degree of control of the club, in exchange for large investments. The deal lasts for 10 years. This has brought many good quality players to the team, such as former Boca Juniors star Carlos Tévez, midfielders Marcelo Mattos, Gustavo Nery, Roger, Javier Mascherano and Carlos Alberto, and defenders Seba Dominguez and Marinho, as well as coaches Passarella, Márcio Bittencourt and Antonio Lopes.

At the beginning of the 2005-06 season, MSI was behind an attempt by Kia Joorabchian to take over English club West Ham United. The plan was officially abandoned in November of the same year, when agreement on a valuation of the club could not be reached.[1] They were also rumoured to be considering a buyout of Aston Villa around the same time.

MSI was registered as a company in London on 31 August 2004 with Joorabchian and Nojan Bedroud listed as directors in filings at Companies House.[2]

Rumours persist over the involvement of Russian oligarchs Roman Abramovich and Boris Berezovsky behind the scenes of MSI, with Chelsea FC owner Abramovich reputedly owning a 15% share of the investment group. Template:Http://football.guardian.co.uk/News Story/0,1563,1370763,00.html

On 31 August 2006, Kia Joorabchian's involvement with Corinthians looked to have resulted in the club's biggest stars, Javier Mascherano & Carlos Tevez, being loaned out to West Ham; instead it was confirmed that West Ham had in fact signed the players on a permanent deal, not a loan basis. All other details of the transfers were not disclosed.

Have West Ham signed up for a similar deal to Corinthians?

Got a soft spot for West Ham and good luck to them, cant quite believe it and hope theres nothing dodgy going on as they are too good a club to be dragged into a scandal

But if Argentina win the next world cup we will have to put up with West ham won the world cup comments for 40 odd years :D

I rather have the Hammers [who I don't particulary like] sign Tevez and Mascherano rather than Man Utd who I can't stand.

This as already said, is ''fishy'' in every possible way. The fact that MSI is a London based group says it all, and we all know that there have been rumours flying around that Cashbramovich owns the company.

Still, an amazing piece of business by West Ham. They could potentialy sell them for 20 million each next summer [Zamora and Tevez up front ]. But good luck to them in the UEFA Cup

Definitely something doesn't add up with this one.

Not sure about the conspiracy theories involving Abramovich, but certainly these 2 must be getting ridiculous money to play for west ham and their contracts are probably riddled with get-out clauses and buy-out clauses.  There's simply no other way they'd be there, not when they had their pick of all the top clubs.

Its not that I dont think that Chelsea had something dirty to do with it..

Its just that I have a soft spot for those Hammers..

Cheeky little fuckers..  :D

Good luck to them in the UEFA Cup.

All of a sudden.. they look like a top 4 side dont you think?

Well, its my opinion anyways.

They're better than the Mancunian faggots at the moment.

Do West Ham have a better strike force than us now?  Ashton (when fit) & Tevez vs Crouch & Bellamy or Bellamy & Kuyt or Crouch & Kuyt.

Unless the fees are revealed we wont really know if this is really dodgy.  Strange how Tevez website says a season loan deal.

Talksport reported that Man Utd & Arsenal were offered the same deal but were put off by MIS controlling the contracts.  Mabe thats why Europes top clubs stayed away?

If they impress, £20 says they are both at Sh*tski this time next year.

£20 also says they don't play against the chavscum.

Dirty, underhanded b*stards.

I agree with you Goat, I reckon they'll be there for the very short term (but you never know)., and go to one of the top 4 or to Spain

Something doesn't feel right about these signings.

Fair do's though, WH have got 2 crackers there.

I'd laugh if these guys couldn't cope with the premiership because there is so much hype around them. All the west ham fans go an get tevez on the back of his shirt and he ends up like diouf and mascherano turns out like diao :D
