Except against the other big clubs and in Europe.

Are you sure Rafa said "I don't think my team can beat the best teams in England and Europe"?Or have I gotten the wrong end of the stick?

wrong wnd of the stick dude. i think shes saying that we have two teams of outstanding ability but when it comes to playing the best in europe or in the premiership we would like to amalgamate the two teams into one super team which can beat anyone in the world

Being your usual controversal self again I see.
And yer you have got the wrong end of the stick.

How is me asking you a question, being controversal? Maybe if you worded your sentences better, I wouldn't have to cause controversy by asking you what you're on about.

Thanks, Dawson, I see what she was getting at and she is indeed correct, but I'm happy with rotation as long as it isn't done for the sake of it and it isn't done to a stupid amount.

I like the scouse delict, but speaking/typing scouse is one thing, but showing poor English skill is quite another. I won't get into a petty squabble with you, but you made a rather large noise about me asking you question.

You are as annoying as Paul Dickov, anyway back to topic.

You say Ciggy has poor English skills. Look at yourself before you pick out the faults of other people.

Sorry, back to topic.

I think resting players, rather than just plain rotation is where we should be going. Say we take it as a given that Kuyt and Bellamy are our first choice front two (I'm not saying they are, just for the sake of argument) then they should play in the majority of games. If we are then playing Wigan at Home then rest the two and play Fowler and Crouch. If Fowler scores twice, then keep him in on the saturday etc etc.
If Carragher and Hyypia are our first choice central defensive partnership, then rest Hyypia when we play Reading away etc etc.
If however we are just rotating three out of the back four for seemingly no reason then this is plain daft. At the moment the injuries have forced the rotations on the manager but I hope he remembers last season (and I've noticed that some posters on here have allowed themselves to become confused over this chain of events) where he rotated constantly in the first part of the season to extremely detrimental effect. He was seemingly then forced into playing his strongest team on a regular basis and the results improved dramatically.
It stands to reason that if two fully fit and fresh sides play against each other of absolutely equal ability, the one that has played together more often would win every time. Now if players are not fully fit and fresh then fair enough, but there should be a core of no less than eight players who are broadly regular participents in my view.
Ranieri was a lovely man and a good manager but he definately did change it too much. It in all probablity cost Chelsea a Champions League win, allowed Mourinho to call himself the "special one" and ultimately take Ranieri's job. Mourinho also lets his ego get the better of him and rotates to try and make himself look clever with sometimes disasterous results. Rafa I think needs to be careful he doesn't get tempted down the same road.

Feck me fella don't get into peoples respective prowess at written English when you post up stuff like this. This is a football forum and a football thread so keep it on topic and stop fecking around talking b0ll0cks about stuff which doesn't matter.

Well, I expressed some doubts about this on an earlier thread. On the other hand, my conclusion there (still valid I think) was that as long as he's winning, no one is going to do anything other than praise Rafa. After all, that's life. He obviously did things in a particular way at Valencia and had a lot of success. If the same method brings success for LFC (and particularly the PL) then fine--everyone on this board will be happy. If on the other hand things don't go well and we end up with less than 82 points (last season's total) then that will be construed as failure and Rafa will carry the can.

Personally, I'm hopeful that we'll improve on 82 points this season.

I don't know if we'll get 82 points, I thought last season we achieved a lot, it could be hard with so many new faces to achieve that points total again, we'll have to wait and see.
