ERRRRRRR... Thanks for playing can I or can I not make an intelligent comment on this forum. So far you are 0/1712.

To be honest. I wouldn't be all that thrilled to sign Kuyt especially at his price. but he is one of the better options now. Id go with Viduka and Bellamy for now and see if better options are available later.

All of you calling for Harry Kewell's head are fckwits. He is by far our best option wide left. I have to say Gonzalez looks promising but he needs time to settle. If you think that he is going to come in and be the automatic starter your wrong.

Completely agree Lando.

If you're referring to my point about Gonzalez....I'm not Lando.

erm my mistake.

I have said before and will say again that the very suggestion that we swap Harry Kewell for Jermain Defoe is completely idiotic. We have in Kewell one of the best attacking wide players in the league, his form improved dramatically last year and if he steps up again then he will most likely keep Gonzalez out of the side. How can people say "Get rid of Kewell as we have Gonzalez now?" I mean Gonzalez might struggle and.....here's a novel thought...he might get injured!!! And who would cover? Someone suggested Garcia...I am sorry but that is ludicrous. IF and it is a big IF Gonzalez is as good as his reputation and can cut it in the premiership then that is very good news for Liverpool but every team wants two players for every position and we are lucky enough to have that, why sacrifice it all for a player who is behind Robbie Keane and Mido in the striker pecking order? No way!

As for who we should get upfront well I am a fan of Kuyt, I do not think Viduka would cut it, Bent won't be allowed to leave by Charlton and Bellamy has too big an ego. I have every confidence however that whoever Rafa signs will be the best man for the job.

Neither was Morientes and he's one of the best technical players of his generation. Neither is Cisse, you don't know until a player plays matches whether he's good enough for your club or not. I can remember 99% of all Liverpool fans (myself included) did not want Peter Crouch. I made the mistake in thinking he bought little to the table and because we are European Champions we should be signing Ronaldinho's and what not. Turns out I couldn't of been more wrong if tried, Peter has been great.

So don't always be so keen to knock, you have to remember Noble, that you have to sign players which fit into your system and formations, not because they are top players and everyone wants them.

Whether Bent, Defoe and Viduka are right for Rafa's system remains to be seen doesn't it? Personally I like Darren Bent, but whether we sign hom or not is another matter.

And another thing have you seen enough of Kuyt to be suggesting him? I have only seen a few matches and few video clips like others on here, so if you're one of those ppl you cannot make that judgement. Woof Woof sed that he's watched him now and again and doesn't look too good. As I said a video compilation would make Titus Bramble look great.

I seriously doubt that somehow. He'll more than likely wait until Jan to sign Cisse and even then it will be at a knock down price of £5million.

Rafa has said before he will only pay what he thinks is the right price for the player and im sure any more over 10m will be considered to much.

There asking 15M for Carrick so im sure they will ask for at least 12 for Defoe.

And if were going to spend that much we may as well have a go for Kuijt.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

You are of course right Oasis, you cannot know how good a player is going to be until he settles down, gets some games under his belt and proves himself, that is especially true if you are moving from another country to a new league. I had Moro down as a sure fire 20 goal a season man when he signed and like you say I raised a concerned eyebrown when Crouchy was signed but you never know.
With regard to Kuyt I am a big fan. I am half dutch and follow the dutch league and national team as best I can and I really rate him. He is strong, an excellent finisher and versatile. HE plays on the wing in a 4-3-3 for the national side as you may have seen when he came on in their win over S&M and he offers a lot in my opinion. His work rate is exceptional and he has a good attitude in that he is loyal. He remains a gamble of course but I think he would cut it. Dutch players do well in the premiership. Bergkamp, van Nistlerooy, Hasselbaink, Zenden, Boateng - all have had long and successful careers in the english top flight so I thik Kuyt is worth a punt.
