I've heard of Carlos Tevez, but never Calos Tevez, is he some new Argentinean superstar?

I think he sells dodgy mobile phones at some boot sale...

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has moved to play down talk of an imminent move for Djibril Cisse.

The French champions have been strongly linked with a summer swoop for Cisse, who is yet to convince Rafa Benitez that he is the man to lead Liverpool's front line next season.

Cisse has not been slow to offer his own appraisal of the situation and, in declaring his love for Marseille, he has clearly not enamoured himself to Aulas.

While not entirely ruling about an approach in the future, Aulas is keen to reiterate that a deal at this stage looks highly unlikely, denying that he had met with the pacey Frenchman in the process.

''I didn't meet Djibril Cisse and I am not forecasting any meeting,'' confirmed Aulas.

''He talked about Lyon? I know, but he also stated his heart is at Marseille.

''We would like his heart to be at Lyon but if that is not the case, then it is useless.

''After all, we still have to pay him! Except perhaps if Liverpool were to loan him.''

Lyon have been linked with a whole host of forward thinking players, but Aulas insists that he will only open the purse strings if an exceptional opportunity presents itself.

''We do not intend to hire a forward, unless there is a special opportunity.''

Marseille have got no money and the new manager may not even want cisse so who knows whats gonna happen?

Lyon's main priority is Signing Ribery.

From teamtalk.co.uk:

Marseille fearful of Cisse bidding war

Marseille fear they could be forced into a bidding war with fellow French giants Lyon for Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.

The former Auxerre star has failed to nail down a regular first-team place since moving to Anfield for £14million in the summer of 2004.

And now it appears Rafael Benitez will offload him before the start of next season, with a return to France the most likely destination.

Both Lyon and Marseille are interested in the player, but the latter fear they could be priced out of a deal with Liverpool expecting a fee of at least £8million.

Marseille president Pape Diouf told the Liverpool Echo: "We haven't been able to talk directly with the player, but it's true we have spoken to members of his entourage. Djibril would love to wear the colours of Marseille, he's said it publicly and revealed his sentiments for this club.

"He's currently a Liverpool player and we'd have to reach an agreement with them to buy out his contract. So yes, the interest is real, but there is also some competition for his signature and once again, it's called Jean-Michel Aulas, the president of Lyon.

"What is he offering? I don't know, but as the president of OM I categorically refuse to get into a bidding war because I don't believe in paying more than market value for any player."

I can't imagine anyone paying more than £5m. £8m - I'd snap their hands off.

How much would he go for if he had a first touch, vision and a footballing brain?

With regards to Cisse's transfer fee it will probably be undisclosed so we'll never know! I think a lot hinges on whether or nor he has a decent World Cup.

at £5million I think it would have been worth our while keeping him. Unfortunately he seems to have burned his boats with Benitez and is probably on huge wages too. I am not a Cisse lover but for £5million I wouldnt sell ,for £8 million I would snatch their hand off.

a bidding war is what we want, if we get can anything over 8m for him then i`d snatch their hands off.
there was a time just before the super cup final that i thought we`d be lucky to get 3m for him.

I don't think we should get rid of him, especially since we have no replacement for him nor Morientes!

Just out of curiosity, how many of your 79 posts have not been essentially: "I rate Cisse let's keep him"?

Time to change the record, FFS!   :sleep
