lets see how djib plays tonight alongside henry. This could be interesting. I hope he does really well and he has a good world cup so we can get good money for him cos i believe djib will be good in another country he just cant get to grips with the prem.

From the noises we're hearing, we're going to get a minimum of £8m for him from one of Lyon, PSG or Marseille, which is a massive, massive result given how disappointing he's been.

I mean, its incredible how a player can control a ball in one country yet can't in another.

Maybe if i'd gone to another country at 16-17 instead of having trials for Stockport i could have had them for madrid as it might have improved every aspect of my game simply by being somewhere else as it would have given me better attributes in every area.

Infact, why don't all players move to another country to make themselves good? What an idea...

Oh I know, I mean the abuse I dished out in that last post is unacceptable.

The only reason I was warned is because Supersubs a miserable who's had it in for me for years simply because I have my own views and am not affraid to run against the tide.

I've been proven right on many things down the years such as Baros, Ashton, Fowler, Finnan, Carragher, Phillips, Jon Harley, David Thompson, Jon Stead, Craig Bellamy, Robbie Keane etc. All of which I've had people telling me how I know nothing because I have such opinions only for the players I mention to then go on to do exactly what I expect.

Ask anyone on the boards my views on Baros after the European Championships... How wrong I was at the time to say what I said... How many people would argue with me now?

Can't believe that the highlight of your "career" was failed trials at Stockport AND you like to advertise it .     

Firstly you don't get trials at that level if you are a poor player and have nothing about you. I've seen some very very very good players growing up and playing at Stockport, Wrexham and a few local semi pro sides. Lee Trundle (third division player and Dean Ashton being be far the best) and then seeing an ex England international who couldn't trap a bag of cement and told me to lump it clear and not bring the ball down when your under no great deal of pressure.

Secondly Carlton "Its ok if we get relegated" Palmer was in charge of Stockport and picked two black lads, one of which was an outstanding prospect at 16, the other was woefull at 19 and would have struggled to get into my sunday league side.

Third, the scouting system in this country and ability of these scouts to spot players is an absoloute joke and thats why so many excellent kids slip through the net year by year and its rare you have a number of excellent players from one city.

Merseyside is currently one of the best area's for scouting and that itsself, leaves ALOT to be desired.

The likes of Trundle, Fowler, Rooney, Danns, Warnock, Wright, Thompson, Gerrard, Carragher, Barton, Osman, Hibbert and Nugent come through here and they've missed out on loads more, some as good if not better than the likes of Gerrard, Barton, Carragher and Osman.

Scouts these days want physical or stand out attributes rather than footballers. Thats the main problem. I remember that soccer idol on sky sports, two lads in that were outstanding yet didn't get a look in because they had good alround ability rather than "electric pace" or "excellent physical pressence".

People like Dean Ashton, Jimmy Bullard, Joey Barton and Jermaine Pennant are ALL capable of improving top sides in this country, yet they would never get a look in down to the "excellent" scouts over here.

Sadly you seem to be right about scouts preferences to athletes rather than footballers in some cases. More often than not kids are let go because they are too small. Nowadays you may have to reach a certain height to move onto the next levels whilst on trials, i was watching stevies dvd the other day and he said something about being worried that he wouldnt grow enough in a certain amount of months. Thats why some players; like djimi traore are playing professional football, not because they are exceptional footballers but exceptional athletes.
