In fairness to Mr Dodd, though I disagree with his views he is correct in saying that he didn't resort to name-calling so therefore probably doesn't deserve some of the abuse he copped. That said, to say to a fella who asks whether he has any chance of getting a ticket, No and whatsmore I hope you don't get one either seems a little silly to me.
While I think it's reasonable, correct and laudible for the club to operate a priortity system for loyal and local fans, there are other ways of getting tickets to any oversubscribed event, be it of a sporting nature or the theatre or whatever. I talk of course of the tout, and before anybody jumps on their high horse about touts being the scum of the Earth (which they ususally are in my experience anyway) and of them denying "real" fans access to tickets, it is in my opinion the legitimate method of the occasional and less worthy supporter of obtaining a ticket. It's the price you pay, don't go regularly and you'll have to cough up three or four times the face value at least, to get in.
To those local and regular matchgoers who believe that this practice denies them access to maybe 500 or so extra tickets I would point out that in the majority of cases these tickets wouldn't be on general sale anyway (ie they come from the players and staff) and would also ask what other method somebody not from the local area is supposed to use.
Failing that, I suggest those who aren't from Liverpool are simply not allowed in and we operate a kind of accent apartate. As a concession, could us non-scousers possibly request that we are allowed to attend reserve or Youth Cup games instead? Maybe that's the problem, we simply don't know our place.

Once again a brilliantly thought out post by bigmick. As he stated I was only giving my opinion and DID NOT resort to name calling. Im sorry if I offended but I would not want a fan who goes regularly to miss out on a ticket. A lot of fans here have taken offence saying they come from asia, candada, and of course I would never object to them going to games as I want fans to come from all over the world to watch the red men.
My argument was that it would be unfair for someone to get a ticket, who could of got tickets for other games, but didn't . I stand by my opinion and I hope people can respect this as I respect their views on different subjects but don't call them every name under the sun.
The original poster I am sorry if I offended but its something I feel strognly about. Now can we stop this silly name calling as it is very deterimental to the forum as a whole. I respect your views, please can you respect mine.

Simple, answer these questions:
1) How often do you go to the game ?
2) Where do you live ?
3) Did you answer yes to (1) OR (2) ?

That doesnt have anything to do with it, and doesnt bother me in the slightest.
The point which does was his rude remark towards another Liverpool supporter.

Well thats charming that is isnt it ?
"Loyal fans deserve to go to the game"
So because us internet freaks dont reside in Liverpool we are not classed as loyal supporters and do not deserve to go to a game ?
Leon let me ask you something, the cockney that sat beside you the other day, was he not worthy of supporting your great club because he had a different accent and because he doesnt get to all the games ?
