Johnson or Defoe maybe
1 RM/RW: Pennant would do me. I reckon being at a high profile club may make him see the light and clean his act up

Would be happy with Pennant, he is quality and wouldnt be ridiculously overpriced hopefully.
Weren't Arsenal a high profile club though  ???

Anyone seen Luca Toni play? He's deadly, plays in serie a and i think he is the top scorer. Would mind a bit of clinical finshing.

4-2-3-1   - I actually liked this formation and I think it is what rafa and paco want to revert to next  year.

Disagree with the fact that Serie A is rubbish. Some of the best players in the world play there. And to make it as a striker in Italy you have to be clinical. Theres none of the 'he didnt score, but he played well', like we have said for Crouch many times this season.

And I think thats what we need, a greedy box striker. We have got other players who can play and are hard working. The likes of crouch who will win the first ball, but we need a player who can get one the end of that ball, great first touch out of his feet and strike.

TBF to crespo, i think he would be deadly for us, because he fits the build.

This is wishfull thinking but Joaquin could be a real possiblity this season with betis looking like they can only just avoide relegation. Hopefully he's price will drop slightly and his ambiton increase. Just hope he does come to us.

Forwards - Would like Kuyt (strong) and Defoe (quick) to replace Morientes and Cisse. I think we'll probably only sign one new striker though as I believe Nando will stay.

RM - Would prefer Joaquin or SWP but I think we'll buy Pennant (which is still pretty good)

Already signed - Palletta (CB), Gonzales (LM) and Aurelio (LB)

I don't think we'll sign Pennant. I really don't. I'd love it if we did, but i can't see Rafa going for him.

well i really dont want pennant. the guy is a nuisance and not good enough for us. Wearing the liverpool jersey should be about more than ability.

I dunno who id like, ideal world, because this isnt football manager, and for the record i dont think we need 5 signings anyways, more like 2 or 3

sorry this is a little of topic. I am so bored today at work I had a look around other forums. I have taken this from bluekipper, they are talking about a new striker for next season. pretty funny if you ask me.

Darren Bent is a better player than Johnson though. He brings a lot more to the team and is just as fast as him.

Sorry mate but no hes not and while football is all about opinions in this case your just wrong!! Darren Bent is the 1 season wonder that people claim Johnson to be! Johnson reads the game better is a much better finisher and has a better touch!!

Its not even close!! In 2 seasons time Darren Bent will be a 3M striker and Johnson will be a 15M striker!!

RWL wrote:
I dont know how you think AJ will be a 15m striker?! 2m less than Owen? You have to be taking the :censored:! AJ only scores this many because Palace play to score with Johnson. If he got injured they wouldnt go up because he is their main game. They are lost without him. An example is Italy with Totti in euro 2004. They were built around totti, he got a ban and they were awful, they had no back up plan. If AJ came to us he wouldnt score as many because we wouldnt play our whole game around just him. That and he wouldnt get 11 goals from taking penalties as Beattie would take them. If you take out his penalties from last season he would have got 9 goals. 15m? No thanks.

Darren Bent looked a really good forward at goodison. He won a lot in the air despite not being big. He can make good runs in behind. He looks a decent finisher, he scores goals with his head. He is powerful, strong. He can play up front on his own as a target man or playing it into his feet. I bet if we came in for him he would love to come to us and he wouldnt cost 10m like AJ would.

MoyesLeftTeste wrote:
So Beattie would get 10 goals from taking pens that Johnson has won??? You do realise that might still help us? ??? Johnson only scores goals because of the way Palace play?? f**k me I'd say he scored Premiership goals inspite of Palace being :censored:!!
Bent is a nothing player that has scored goals. It won't last! Johnson for me has everything to make him 1 of The Premierships top scorers for the next 7 years! As for Owen.... I think he will prove to be a better player than Owen is today
