there are reports all over the press this morning talking about momo's injury - too many to make it worth linking to them all. the claims range from 'a long recovery then full sight regained' to 'a long recovery, 20% sight at best, career over'. the common factor is that it will be a long recovery and we won't be seeing him again this season. in pure footballing terms its not a disaster as we're blessed with strength in midfield and didi is in great form when he plays, we have less chance of resting anyone but i think we'll cope.
on personal terms, and for the longer term future of the squad, its terrible. as was recently discussed in bigmicks thread in momo we either have a gem already or a definite contender to become one sooner rather than later. he was an absolute bargain and is a firm favourite with the fans already, a newcomer who just immediately looks like a liverpool player.
if this really is the end of his career, and we have to remember that even if he gets 80% of his sight back he won't be able to play at a high level, its an absolute tradgey for him personally, for a promising career and for our club. the top class medical facilities at his disposal are the only glimmer of light at the moment in my pessimistic view but i can only hope against hope that he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Get up! everybody's gonna move their feet
Get Down! everybody's gonna leave their seat
