I'm sick of us buying and being linked with players like Joey Barton, this is why were turning into a mediocre club and falling being the 'top three' cos we buy average players rather than world class one!!! *shakes head*

Why arent we mroe linked with VDV or others like that? If we think like a mid table team, thats how we are gonna be treated

Van Der Vaart is the man for me, he is the missing link and the creative player we miss, I'd put him on the right and Kewell on the left and buy Davids on a free to play in the middle with Gerrard with Mexes at the back with Sami.

How mint would that be!!!!!!!!!!!

Id love to get Mexes but when he says he will only join if we get CL football i dont like that. It doesnt really show passion for the club now does it?

Yeah I know what you mean, thing is you have to look at it from his point of view cos he just wants to play at the top level, where we would do anything to wear that red shirt!

in all fairness he is right, he's a quality player and if mexes did come then he would give his all but at the moment he wants to make sure he is going to the right club, he is not going to be playing in france and be ever so passionate about a team in another country, i belive if we did get him he would be a major asset and the pacey defender we need to compliment hyypia!
van dervaart is only going to go to barcelona (something to do with his parents) or amn utd they want him and have more muscle than us! :cool:

How can mexes have a passion for a club from outside his own country? Ask Sammi if he did before he came and hed say no. The passion comes once you've played for the club get a grip lads! Mexes and the other lot cant have a passion for us, Jesus, my passion is runnig thin at the mo cos of le frog.

Actuially i think hypia said that hed always been aliverpool fan. But dont most players say that when they play in one of the nordic countries? Personally id loev mexes but would rather have someone like Dawson or upson

Most Scandinavians (that includes Sammi ) where brought up watching Liverpool at their best. Our biggest fan base outsde the uk is in Scandinavia.I've met loads of people with as much passion for our team as we have , the fact that they weren't born here didn't stop them from loving our club.

upson doesn't have the pace which we require. he's also had an alarming dip of form which has cost him his euro 2004 place.

everyone keeps raving about this dawson guy. i haven't seen enough of him. what are his qualities? it's a huge step up from div1 to the premiership.

hes just a big young fast defender. Hes not the best now but with Sami at his side he can only get better and better. Watching Sami and Stefan sometimes, bless them, but they are like two old tugboats with the speed they can turn. We need Sami, the guy is immense, but we also need someone faster who can clear up whatever Sami leaves
