An external hard disk has become a very handy device at a reasonable price to store , erm, our personal data, source code, erm, and personal photos. USB 2.0. standard allows us to share this, erm, photos and personal docs with friends with ease. It's a good buy, yes.
:)

About the films, if they're compressed with DIVX, 700 Mb each. 3 fillms, 2Gb Approx.

If they are DVDs and they are not compressed or ripped, 4Gb each.

Note that there's a technology called RATDVD that allows you for free to compress a DVD in 1Gb and play it in your computer with all the menus and everything. With that format you can burn it back to DVD if you need a backup of the film.

It's a free program.

A business associate friend of mine, use to buy 5000 blank cds a month off me.This was when i used to sell blank cdr media in bulk around the country.Anyway he used to go to computer fairs especially in Liverpool and chester and was making about £15000 a month from illegal downloads,he was doing this for about 3 years..He got shopped by another trader, trading standards were waiting for him in Chester and he got 9 months inside.
Hes been out  a year now but i can tell you one thing,he never copies mp3s and films anymore.

Making profit with someone else's work is for me the great line of division in order to pursue an illegal downloader or not.

earning 15000 quid a month is a big deal. If he's already out and free, you can figure out why they won't pursue people who make no profit!

15000 quid a month, OMG!!

We live in a "Something for Nothing" society where music, films, tobacco and booze can be bought on the cheap if you know the right people. I blame the tax system in the UK which is disproportinatly higher than the vast majority of countries in Europe but that doesn't make it right to evade tax on goods in my opinion.

However in 20 years when there is NO film industry or Music worth listening to perhaps we will regret the wholesale ripping off of the entertainment industry via Downloading.

I know the record and film companies take the largest slice of sales and the artiste is often left with a fraction of the proceeds but you can't justify the copying of music and films just because you believe the artiste gets a bad deal. You can be sure of one thing though, the artiste gets a worse deal when you download ???

If you believe you are justifiably making some sort of moral statement by downloading and not paying for it then you are deluding yourself and claiming the moral high ground is a weak excuse for being a cheap a.rse:D

:D I only download of established artistes. You know the ones who sit in there multi millionaire mansions over looking the sea ,the ones who tell us working class to dig deep when a charity comes along.
