That would explain it! Your d/l speed is ridiculously slow there.

An ADSL faceplate doubled my d/l speed, similar to this one:

Bearing in mind they tell you "distance from the exchange can affect your BB speed" you'd think they'd have twigged to it.
Been on the line to their "support" team (in India btw) who've told me it's a network problem, they'll look into it and get back to me. FFS

Bast@rds!! :D

Well Guys it seems the old saying is true.

"If you want to get anything done in this country you have to moan until you're blue in the face"

Spoke to BT support 4 times (in India) during the last 72 hours and at last found someone who (touch wood) seems to know what he's doing.

Apparently installing a new router puts a temporary cap on the line as they test the connection (?). In my case it seems the "temporary" cap was never removed.  Don't know why I had to speak to four different technicians before this fault was diagnosed and rectified.

As a test I've just repeated a download of something that previously took me over 3 hours to get. I've downloaded it in 7 minutes !

Sometimes it pays to complain (repeatedly) :)

p.s. problem was never with uTorrent, as usual most DL problems lie with your ISP.

So you don't stream stuff? Why not? You're paying for your internet, aren't you? That's not stealing.

Vuse for me it's safer than all the rest. Anyway  It depends on what your downloading and what source your downloading it from which effects the speed plus if there is anyone else in your street that is downloading videos/music etc for free lol

ive been using vuze for about 2 years now and havent experienced any problems with viruses or spyware.
i have at least 700gb of stuff built up in my collection to date.its a good site with pretty much everything you can want.
ive recently softmodded my daughters gamesystem and am flat out downloading games with no problems so far.:D .
i would reccomend vuze over the rest.
