Man ure v champions of europe

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ola Mr Benitez » Wed Jan 18, 2006 12:42 pm

I can't understand why everyone thinks this is going to be a walk over.  Man U are still (and its hurts to say this) one of the best team in the EPL who can beat anyone on their day.  Our record against them is awful.  They are our bogey team!

Saying that, I think Raffa and the lads know not to underestimate them so I think we will sneak it 11-0..
...  I think it'll be tight with only one goal seperating the teams or a draw.  Hope it is gonna go our way.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

id be happy sneaking it 11-0!!!

we are not the fastest team outta the traps and we do need to change that in this game. and sissoko needs to calm down just a little bit or i really cant see him lasting 90 minutes.

of course im im gonna go for a liverpool win, 2-1 i reckon

Despite those wins during Houllier's reign, we never went to Old Trafford with the confidence to go out and play football. The victories were build on negating the opposition and hitting them on the break.

The difference now is that Benitez is not opposed to using such tactics, but for the first time possibly since the advent of the Premiership, it's not the only option that we have. I'd fully expect us to go there and take the game to them. With our far superior midfield I expect us to dominate possession for long periods. It's just a case of taking our chances.

Back to the game, let's just hope that Ferguson maintains his policy of debuting his new signings in massive games and starts with Evra and Vidic this week! I was really impressed with Evra last week. :D

Got to disagree with you there st mick,no matter what you thought of Roy Evans and his teams, defensive was certainly not a critisism you could label them with, they played some of the best attacking football seen at anfield for a while, then and now. The only problem with that team was that it couldn't defend.Under GH you are right we went completely the opposite way.

Yeah i love for us to sneak it past them at 11-0   :D
Our recent form in recent seasons hasnt been too bad against them, not counting last season.

I can see it being a tight affair and wouldnt  be too unhappy with an away point

A draw would be a good result but the way Chavski are going at the moment we need a great result which is a win
